Default Tenshodo/Nemoto Model ?

Hello guys.
Recently acquire this huge DC-8, I think a 1:50 ( 37 1/2 long, 31 1/2 wingspan ) has some details due to age. I am almost sure this is a Tenshodo/Nemoto model.
Any idea about the makers name ?
Any info. will be apreciated.
Best regards.

Hi, 100% sure it is a Nemoto model. Needs a few touch up, but a nice find. I think the stand is not original.

What a lovely model. Based on your pictures, IMO I would say that it is indeed a Tenshodo/Nemoto model. The lovely detailing on it is characteristic of a Japanese manufacturer.

Hi, thanks for the info and photos !!!
Got this model in Japan, I will receive it in short time. I am not sure if the stand is the original, I found on this site a photo ( not mine ) of a similar stand marked as NEMOTO Japan.
I will post more photos as soon as I get the huge JAL DC-8.

This model & photo not mine...

Hi skythings
Tenshodo still active, one month ago I went to Tenshoso building located at Ginza (Tokyo), entering upstairs they have a few airplanes on display for sale, most of them WWII. Nowadays they are more into trains, they have two floors dedicated just for trains.

About Nemoto they still on businness, I was in contact with Akiyo Nemoto, they have some gliders and single engine airplnes, I think he is not more on huge models, he just reply me once, then, lost contact.

Here is one of my Nemoto models. Unfortunately the wing outboard of number four engine broke off during shipping. You can see the stand marked Nemoto.

Did you happen to get any images? For years now I have been trying to get more information on a couple of metal Tenshodo Britannias in CPA colors that I own.

Really sad to hear your model was damaged in transit, do you still have the broken horizontal stabilizer and wing ?, maybe you can repair.
When a bought the DC-8 I was concern about shipping, so, I requested seller to send locally to NRT, then I went to NRT to pick it up personally, I took it with me in the cabin, this way it arrived in good condition home, other way would be disastrous.

Yes, I have the broken wing piece. It needs to be re-attached. So a Nemoto DC-8 flew in a Dreamliner?

Sorry for my belated response. Almost of all the infos have been mentioned in sa-227's post.

Regarding Tenshodo, they started their business in 1879 as a stamp manufacturer, got started a railroad model in 1949 and started to make a airplane model in 1960s. Their present main products are a watch and a railroad model. Attached pictures show their current shop in Tokyo.

Regarding Nemoto Models, the guy named Nemoto started to make a airplane model in 1970 for a museum and it seems that he has still been making. Attached picture is his 1/100 PS-1.

That’s an impressive building, much like the models themselves. Lots of things I’ve learned about the companies.
