Default Let the work begin!

The rainy season has started early on Vancouver Island, so it is back in the shop. Air brushes are all seized up and lots of work to prepare for painting.

Very fortunate to have acquired some leftover Space models. The 737's are 1:50th in series 200/300/500. All complete.

200 will be a CP Air orange or a Lufthansa, depending on decals
300 will be CP Air orange (I have never seen one in that scale)
500 will be British Airways or Southwest.

The Sea King is 1:32nd from Space. I have decals from Canmilair and will do it in the livery I flew in. I have never seen another in that large a scale.
The Cormorant also from Space will be SAR yellow RCAF
The CH-47 Chinook, also Space, not sure where I'll go with that. I have blades and rotors for all.

Also pictures of the 2 CF-5A's and 1 CF-5D completed in the spring.

Here is a link to what the 737-300 will look like

Lots of work ahead.

Cheers

Al

Sounds like a great fall and winter, can't wait to see the Boeings as they progress. Good luck with everything.

I saw some Space 1/100 MD-90 blanks on ebay a while back. Wish I had gotten a couple of them. Can't wait to see how these go, especially the CP Air ones. If you haven't got any of these paints yet - I have to recommend Alclad II metallizers for the polished aluminum finish, which I used here.

Did you have any success finding any 1/50th decals?

Love the orange CP livery. Look forward to seeing the results.

Neil.

Hi Al,

Hope all is well.

Hope that you had a nice summer.

I'm sure that all of these models will all look great, when completed.

Best Regards, Robert

I know it is smaller, but maybe of interest as a donner?

The Alclad II is great. I just found out from my friend in Calgary that they sell a special clear coat for it.
Still working on decals. Very hard to find in that scale. I don't need any for the CP as I have done a few DC-8's in that livery.

Thanks

Al

That is a nice model. I am a huge fan of Space. Getting blanks with parts like the engines and pylons, you soon find out why they don't break like the Pacmin's do. They are all one piece and solid as nails.

Hey Al, think I dropped you a message a while ago about trying to copy the 737-200 stabilisers, as I have a few models, but no stabs. Anything that can be done?

Yes. I was looking for you. The only thing I could do is make you a mould for each side. They are different from Port/Stdb but if you only had the one you could make it work. Mine came very rough and I have to make them fit with a lot of sanding and do a bit of filling.
Did you try Paul Benn in England. He might even have one left laying around that you could get. Paul is really good at helping. Anyway, last resort, I'll mould you one or I could mail you the set and you could make the mould. We'll work it out. I'll PM you Paul's email right away. Mention me.
