Default A few of my FoMaer collection

That is about 3/4 of my Fomaer collection. I just love these. Models are of very high quality. Most are 1:48th. Scale.

The picture with the CP DC8 is to show sizing. That DC-8 is in 1:72nd (Verkuyl)

More pictures coming below along with some information from years of research.

This F-104 (829) is exactly as they were presented to the pilots upon finishing their tour in BADEN Baden, in the mid 1960's. Notice the older Canadian flag on the tail. This one is mint!! Any Canadian ones ones with squadron patches etc..... are not original and were refinished at one time.
So 829 is original, and so is 761. As well as the German 104. It is original also. More pictures of other types coming below.

BTW. The moulds that came out and polished perfectly were sold as polished models. The ones with imperfections that couldn't be fixed we painted. So the painted Phantom is original and so is the polished ones. As well as the F-16's with are also totally original.
There is a real following and a huge collector community for FoMaer. They basically did almost every airplane that ever flew, although we just see the odd F-104 and F-18's here in North America.
Some FoMaer models have sold for more money than DFM's.

I also love those models but typically I do not collect military. I only own two, an SR71 and a F104. I would love to acquire a Mig25.

I didn't collect military till later. I started with acquiring a CF-104 and then an F-18 and then.........You know how it goes. Models are like fishing rods. They have babies in the winter months :-)

An amazing collection and everything to your usual high standards. Neat to see them in your home and not in the shop, did you get a special exemption .

Exemption ran out.
They're in the shop now. Put up some more shelving.

Cheers

If you like the Fomaer models then please check out my collection on TUMBLR.....

https://voodoo1blog.tumblr.com/archive

For the longest time I tried to find info on the models to no avail, so I started posting pic of my collection almost as a picture reference. I know there are still models out there that I have never seen and don't know of.....but I am constantly on the hunt.

I can't speak for anyone else but I use your pictures as reference for Fomaer or any other of your models. Keep up the good work! You also have helped me with what little I have in Fomaer models. Thanks!

I would like to invite and encourage everyone with any die-cast airplane collection to join TUMBLR and post pics of your collection (just let me say I have no affiliation with TUMBLR) it just seems to be the "facebook for collections". One thing that I notice after posting some pics is all the pic are date stamped. So if you can't remember when you bought a plane you can always look back and get a general idea of when you bought it. I typically post pics with in a couple days ....depending on weather......I like to take my pics outside.
There are a few other collectors on TUMBLR that I follow and every time they post a pic it shows up on my home page.
So join....follow me....I'll follow you. Seems easier to keep in contact and help each other out. I am more than happy to supply or help find missing pieces for planes....I have a small stockpile of misc. parts and pieces.
On TUMBLR I have been able to keep in contact with collectors all over the world and have been given opportunities to buy very rare planes.....so more than a few good reasons to have a TUMBLR page....Oh ya and it's free.
Like I said I have posted pics of my collection for many reasons..... information if nothing else and TUMBLR has made it easy to do so and offered me benefits as well(date stamping is just one).....so please if you feel like it join...lets get our collections out where others can find them. I recommend it.....it's something I'm doing.......and doing it to help others.....keep the Fomaer models (and others) in the forefront of the collectors world and hopefully inspire others to display their collections as well........yes, I have many models....but..... I still enjoy seeing other collections. Many planes have terrific stories behind them.

Let me look around and see what I got. What do you focus on? Me....I focus on military planes. How about posting some pics of what you have so far?

I focus primarily on USAF jet Fighters and bombers from 50s, 60s 70s and 80s. Fomaer, Topping, Precise, some Allyn. Will try to get some picks posted from my collection soon. I recently acquired a Fomaer F104 with a finished wood diamond shaped black base with an Italian "Sardegna" logo on it. I'm curious if you have seen anything like it before? tks!

That's a very impressive collection of models, very hot!

That DC-8 is also very sexy.

I found an F-4 at an antique shop, but the canopy had been replaced and no original stand. Is it hard to find a correct canopy and stand?

It is very hard to find original pieces for any of the planes. However, I have a small vac-u-form machine and can make canopies with little effort, After market stands are available....I have a couple and can sell with one if you need it. Let me know here [email protected]

Post a pic of the F-4
