Default Decals for Boeing 737 in 1:50th

Hi guys (and gals)

I have 3 Space model 737 blanks in 1:50th. Anyone knows where I can acquire some decals in that scale?. One each series 737-200 737-300 and 737-500

Opened to any livery . Can probably make my own but just curious what is out there.

Have you contacted Draw Decal? believe all of their art is vector so they should be able to do any scale.

OK Thanks. Many years ago Greg (or is it Craig ?) wouldn't do 1:50th. But I will try him again.

26 Decals in the UK will print any scale, Draw Decals (Greg) will do any scale, I also have a few sheets of just doors and windows, but not sure how much use they would be

Mike at Vintage Flyer is working on a set of decals for my Electra casting that I sent you a picture of. Very easy to work with.

Thanks Anthony,

I am in talks with Mike right now. He will probably do a set of 737-200 for me. I have used his decals before and he does excellent work.
Waiting for a set of Viscount from him also. I have a metal Westway blank.

Thank you for that. I go through Russell (Brown) at Airline Hobby Supplies,. He is so knowledgeable and he has a direct relationship with all the decal suppliers, like 26Decals and Greg at Draw etc... Such a great guy. So, he is co-ordinating for me. Saves me a lot of work. One of the best decal place on the planet is F-Decal (Philippe Lenard ) in France. I have a lot of their sheets in my stash . The quality is beyond fantastic. Not cheap but not out of line either for this kind of work. It's a great time to be a modeller !!!
Thank you for your offer of doors and windows. I am purchasing some sets from Russell.
This is a great thread as we are all picking up tips from it. You can never have too many sources.

Cheers

The problem I have with F-Dcal is that the decal paper he uses has a film I find too thick, micro-sol is needed in large quantities to get the decals to bed down properly. I think Draw Decal probably has the best print quality, but the paper has an exceptionally thin film which has a tendency to curl up on itself! 26 Decals are a happy medium, quality is ok and the paper is very good! Perhaps I should start printing my own!

I print a lot of my own. I buy my decal laser paper from Micromark. I have 2 great color laser printers. I clear coat with Krylon Crystal clear (about 3 coats). The only problem is I can't print white or a nice silver.
But for everything else, it is great. Sometime even better. I never use a commercially bought decal sheet, without first scanning it and saving it to file. I am a self thought graphic artist and quite often I will adjust colors or resize some items. I think the graphic part is my favorite part of the hobby. I can spend hours working with that and don't see the clock.
