Default 1/25 scale model stand availability

Anyone know where to get a large 1/25 scale model stand for a reasonable price? Aviation models is selling custom made stands, but to get two 4ft tall stands with 12x4inch base plate is over a thousand dollars including shipping.

Hi stratoliner,

You're very welcome.

Several years ago I was in need of a metal tripod stand for a very large scale Boeing 74-200 cutaway model and Jennifer & Esther at PacMin were able to assist me in acquiring one.

Best of luck in your search for the stand.

Regards, Robert

Was the stand almost as huge and wide as the 747 wingspan? Im assuming it may be about 4ft wide at the base when all three pieces are joined?

Hi stratoliner,

This was my model, that I had PacMin create a stand for:

http://https://www.worthpoint.com/wo...avel-137200410

The model was made by PacMin for the CEO of Ericsson, who had this model in his executive office.

Hi, that link is nonfunctional. however if it is an ericsson 742, then i have seen that model for sale online many years ago. Was it featured with extensive broken plexiglass pieces on the forward fuselage? That was a 1/36 747 and the one i have is a 1/25. I guess the stand may be larger for the 1/25? not too sure. Pacmin stated they have a small medium, L, and xlarge stand. The L and xl stand has 4 holes so they think that since the 1/25 747 has 2 holes that it may require the medium stand.

Hi stratoliner,

Thanks for posting the pics. That was my model at one time. I found it in a pile of trash, in front a museum which had just closed down permanently.

When I received the tripod metal stand from PacMin for this model, I realizsed that the stand needed to be altered somewhat, in order to support the model.

So, I had to have the upper part of the tripod metal stand altered, by a local sheet metal shop.

The sheet metal shop manufactured a specialized metal part, which they then welded onto the upper part of the tripod, so that it would fit and support this really heavy model correctly.

Has anyone contacted Pacmin for Parts or repair services recently? I used to contact Esther Yera, but I don't think she works there anymore. If anyone has a good contact I would appreciate it.

Thank you
David
