Default 1/100 Limox Lufthansa MD-11F

I had ordered this model in early March. Seller took a while to ship it and it took 3 weeks to arrive. After much waiting, it came! It is an absolutely gorgeous model. I wasn't too keen on the Lufthansa livery, but this model makes it look really nice. 1:100 vs 1:400 photo included. The wings and tail have excellent detail and is an overall fantastic model! The base is similar to my 1/100 Aero Le Plane Egypt Air 777-200. The clear bases look much nicer than the wood bases other companies use.

That's a lovely model. That Lufthansa livery is ageless. I have a 1/100 Westway Lufthansa A300-600R, and a Graphideco 1/100 A330 Egyptair in my favourite 'blue tail' livery. I hope one day to be able to have a 1/100 Egyptair 'blue tail' 777-200 as I've flown many times on those. Thanks for sharing that lovely MD11 with us.

Neil.

Beautiful model. I can't quite see the number 2 engine exhaust area. Does it have the exhaust cone? The Pacmin version of this is missing the exhaust area on the number 2 engine. It doesn't look right. IMO.

The A330 looks cool! How long is it?
Someday you will! Just gotta keep looking.

It really is! Yes; all 3 engines have it. included pictures if you want to see. Are all Pacmin models like that? I'm interested in a Pacmin MD11 model but I'm unsure if I want it since I don't know their quality.

To the best of my knowledge, all Pacmin MD-11's in 100 scale, the hot end of the number 2 engine is missing. The Pacmin version of your model was sold on eBay last month. I messaged the seller about the number 2 engine. He told me all of his MD-11's are like that. I have no idea why the high quality Pacmin models would leave that missing? Bottom line, your model is far more desirable. IMO.

My Egyptair 330 is 56cm long. I still haven't given up on the 777-200 just yet
I do have a 1/100 777-300 in their current livery though.

That is a beautiful group of models you have displayed Neil. I use to see the SAS DC-10 in Seattle.

Thank you for the info! I think I will pass on the Pacmin model I was interested in, then.

Thank you Sir. Back in the mid 80s I worked as a despatched for a ground handling company, and used to work SAS/Scanair DC10s, DC8-63s, DC9-40s and A300s. In fact the Fratelli DC9-40 model I have, has the reg of the first 'live' turnaround I ever did following the completion of my training...happy days.

Thanks. I think it's a shame that the with the newer livery, Egyptair dropped the use of Pharaoh names and Egyptian locations. I have a 1/50 'blue tail' A321 named Red Sea.

Neil.
