I just noticed the link for the Pacific Western Airlines model is the wrong link. The above link is to the original livery.

Here is the link to the 2nd Generation livery. My apologies.

Thumbs up Re: Two More Additions to My Canadian Aircraft Collection

Superb pick ups. You must be proud. You would be amazed at how many people still don't realize Wardair was from Edmonton. Most think YYZ. Again, great models.

In regards to the Wardair most of us remember you are correct. Mr Ward was from Edmonton and still lives there today. In reality Wardair had it's roots in Yellowknife where he founded the airline in 1953. He still maintained those northern operations as a separate entity until 1979.

In 1961 Wardair moved south to Edmonton and changed it's name to Wardair Canada Ltd. In 1976 the name was again changed to Wardair International Ltd. The Wardair head offices complete with new hangars were opened in Toronto in 1982 to accommodate the 6-12 Airbus 310's on order.

Forgot to mention Wardair's In-flight service. 10/10. They would rival ANY of the heavy weights of today.

Here are some images of the regular service every passenger received when flying on Wardair. Alberta steak or stuffed chicken with crisp vegetables and potatoes. White linen- Royal Dalton china, steak and real knives & forks. At the end of your meal a desert trolly sported fine pastry's, puddings, black forest cakes, fresh fruit. Mr. Ward was very fussy about the meal service on his aircraft.

Had the privilege to fly to Honolulu from Calgary in 1973 on the B707 & once again in 1980 on the B747. Best service in my memories of flying airlines.
