Default Etihad A380

A birthday present from my partner. A 1/150 A380, in the new Etihad colours. I really like this model. This is the first model of this kind that I've seen with detachable wings and tail planes. And boy was I amazed to discover that the exhaust cones are polished metal! I think that some of these Chinese manufacturers are turning out a decent product these days. Anyways, here she is.

Your partner had a refined taste; for me one of the most beautiful livery nowadays, even at heavyweight A380 it looks good . Already enjoyed the previous livery, but the present livery is for me, more modern with very specific colors of the United Arab Emirates that reminds sand and desert. A lovely model Neil . I'm looking for one of these, and the B787-9, scale 100.

let me see when is it my birthday! Oh no! ten months waiting !

Thanks guys. Yes, I'm lucky to have a partner who also appreciates my hobby. The trouble with birthdays is that they only come once a year, but perhaps that's just as well

I really was blown away by the finish on this model. I've said it before, these Chinese companies are really upping their game. Pinto, I hope you get those 1/100 Etihad models some day. I do have a 1/100 Etihad A380, but in the earlier livery. I didn't think much of the new colours in the early days, but it's certainly grown on me since!

Love the new Etihad. One of my favorite new liveries in a long time. Saw one of the B787's in Everett, just stunning as the sun hits it. Kind of like Air Canada. Congrats on your new model. It's a keeper for sure.

Thanks, yes a keeper for sure. It seems that the new livery can look very different, depending on the ambient light at the time. I bet it looks really something on the 787!

Neil,
Some time ago, I remember that you told me that your partner was a Concorde fan, but was learning to like the new Airbus A380, so your lovely gift makes sense.

I prefer that your birthday is only once a year, which means that we will have your company for many and good years and many models to show us.

Happy Birthday /enjoy life

I would love to have seen this 787 900 in Everett, and believe in your words; should be stunning; Boeing 787-900 and Etihad livery are a perfect match. (my opinion of course).

Many Thanks for the kind words Pinto. You have a good memory, yes my partner is a big Concorde fan, and is getting to appreciate the A380, but I think that the Concorde will always win!

Happy birthday Neil. That is a really nice model and the Etihad new livery looks great. I have a 1:200 Etihad 787-9 and even in this scale looks very nice. Oh and I also have a Inflight 200 Egypt Air 777-300, can't wait for that to arrive!

Hi Simon. Thank you. I'd love to see a pic of that Etihad 787 when you have time. As you've probably guessed, I'm a great Egyptair fan, especially the 777-300. I have the Lysia model, and a 1/100 version too.

That's a lovely model Simon, one to be proud of. That new scheme really has grown on me, and it looks good on both the 787 and the A380
