Default The DC-9 fleet, cheers from Jamaica!!!

Part of my DC-9 fleet.

The 1/100 scale is Atlantic Models, I moved the Jamaican flag from the engine to beside the registration and added the McDonnell Douglas decals to the engine.

The 1/200 scale is an original dating quite a way back when the airline operated three of the planes.

One of the 1/50 scale models is from Atlantic Models and the other is a DFM model which started its life as Allgheny and was redone in Air Jamaica colors.

Soon to arrive a 1/36 DC-9 in Air Jamaica colors, stay tuned!

Excellent collection there! That display spot looks quite hostile though. anyone passing through the hall especially at night could potentially bump into the models.

No, they were just staged there for the picture, normally they sit on the floor with the other models in the office, see pictures.

My goodness, you have a very beautiful Air Jamaica collection my man, I just love it!!

Not many people seem to like Air Jamaica but I do, I love both this classic scheme & the new or final livery before they merged with Caribbean Airlines... I live in Florida too, I might have to visit you some day to see your amazing collection first hand...

They look great Patrick (Air Jamaica DC 9.) Thanks for sharing.

Out of curiosity: I noticed you have an MD-8X and a DC-8 in all white color. Any reason for that?

Regards/Manuel

Wow, great collection. I am a fan of house colours myself but am surprised no one has commented on what I asume is a 1/50 1011 hiding in the corner. A 1011 in any scal is worth having and expecially in Air Jamaicas colorful livery. Well done.

Good eye Manuel, the MD-80 is a 1/50 scale and is slated to become Air Jamaica in the new colors, the DC-8-51 is a 1/72 scale from Westway and will either be JAL delivery colors or Air Jamaica.

Beautiful collection there Patrick. Couldn't help but notice the B727 as well. I have 2 of them in 1:200 scale, old and new JM livery. I say this every time, you gotta love them love birds.

I collect mostly 1:400 models and I think I have every JM model released in that scale.

I also noted the L1011 in JM livery. My recollection is that they never acquired the L1011, but opted for the A300 instead. Am I correct?

The L1011 was ordered back in 1968 (2) but the order was eventually cancelled in favor of four 727-200 Advanced models, the airline did have L1011 models done as a part of the promotion before the cancellation, the A300s came much later to replace the aging DC-8 fleet.
I love the 727s and the DC-9s!!
