Default Kuala Lumpur KLIA Model Collection

I flew through KL this morning and took the following photos. The models are located just past security in the departure lounge area. I've not seen such a comprehensive collection on public display at an airport like this before. There's a mix of Spacemodels, PacMin, Graphideco, Scalecraft, Lupa and some Chinese models.

Wow! What a collection. I'll take the Egyptair, Iran Air and the Iran Asseman, the Malaysian 380 please, and maybe an Etihad or two. I'm sure the 'Wrong colour, wrong nose, wrong engines brigade' will be along momentarily.

Thanks for taking the time to snap and post these pics.

Neil.

i've always wondered whether that brigade has anything to say about the colour, nose or engines on the 1:1 scale birds...

A bit public for living in, but I wouldn't mind the 'furniture'

Oops I now see that but that's even better if the models are at an airport!!

Yep what can I say, besides watching ESPN or NBA, I seem to love coming to DA.C, I just see it as another past time, that's all...

And who knows I might reach the 1000 mark before my Birthday, I'm just getting warmed up...

Yep, there must be someone working at the airport that loves this crazy hobby as much as we do! Only difference is they have the room to display them all!

Models with the tripod (I assume are 1/50 scale) are really very interesting, except the China Southern is a mix of anything; It would be better that this model was not part of the exhibition. The models are well framed in space, and somehow, with some security for an exhibition at an airport.

The others models (presume scale 1/100) also very interesting, others less so, (like de Fedex one) and the furniture really do not like! a very heavy look, the color of the wood do not like, that cloth is no longer used (if the intention was to divide the spaces without visual interference, so ,why not put a frosted glass?) and in this case, the furniture are completely ill-adapted to space .

Anyway I liked to see this exhibition with some very interesting models. Thank you for sharing.

Looks as though this A380 has lost its outer engines. Its possible to see the attachment point for the missing part, under the wing on this side. Maybe if its missing, they took the other outer one off, to balance things up!

That's the work of art of a 737 lover who has an A380 passion and scale problems.

Wow, great collection. Its good to see they have found a home. Often wonder what happens to 'marketing aids' when the customer no longer wants them. I suspect the China Southern Aircraft is an A380 with a liberated engine... with 3d printing that should be an easy fix! SFO Airport has a great collection of Aircraft Models too. Thanks for taking the time to post these photos.
