Hi Canamwing,

It's defiantly an impressive large scale cutaway model indeed.

Steal? I got the same model in Air Canada livery for $500. That was a steal! But no stand.

Let me guess ... you stole the model from the owners house and lost USD 500.-- while escaping?

well for a ebay seller who isn't desperate to get rid of this 1/25 model, 10 grand is prety much a steal considering a new model of this size would be atleast $20 grand.

The air canada model looks to be a 1/36 and not a 1/25 based on the size of the chair. correct me if i am wrong.

Hi Canamwing,

That's a really nice Air Canada Boeing 737 Cutaway Model.

Thanks for posting the pic.

Should anyone make an offer for your model, a metal tripod display stand could be purchased via model manufacturers directly for it, like PacMin, Westway or Atlantic Models.

A potential buyer would have to do some research concerning the holes drilled in the underside of the model's fuselage, in order to properly match up or to have altered, the top part of the tripod stand. This way that model would be securely on it.

I'm sure that your model will eventually find a new home.

1/36?

Maybe you are right? I will measure it and let you know.

Ok, serious question...not trying to be sarcastic but how is $10,000 a steal? This model is 10 feet long and not so easy to display. It also has some issues, albeit not anything serious. Thinking it is worth half that, perhaps?

i guess i meant it is a steal if you had the money, considering the model is quite rare. ultimately it is worth what someone is willing to pay.

Robert,

I dont think Canamwing is planning on departing with his 747 model. I believe what he is saying is that he purchased that model for $500 from someone who was cleaning out their basement and probably had the lady nagging them to get rid of it for any price ?

If you ever want to find out how much something went for on eBay with a Best Offer Accepted price, simply go to www.watchcount.com

If you type in the eBay item number after www.watchcount.com/321754524697 it takes you right to the listing. About half way down the listing is a yellow highlighted "Sold For" area. Just to the right of that is a hyperlink "price may be shown here on eBay". Click the link and you will see what the accepted item price was.

The model did sell for $8000.00

Cheers

Upon communicating with seller he did give me the general location of the buyer but no further detail other than the winning bid. Based on the location, i have a strong feeling the winner is the same guy who purchased multiple models from me. Heard he is a big time tycoon.
