Default My 'new' toys: 1/25 Continental 707 and MD-12

1/25 Pacific Miniatures Continental 707, complete with the detailed interior. History of this specific model is it was delivered to Continental in the early 1960s in the Golden Eagle livery, and in the late 1960s it was repainted in the black meatball (in house by Continental's maintenance team no less). Was displayed at Continental and then in the maintenance facility for nearly 25 years. Ended up at Northrup University, then the Douglas Museum (and finally in a private collectors hand).

Complete interior, overall model is in very good shape, but age has taken its toll. The original stand and interior lighting is long gone, and some things need touching up. Model has been sent out for a restoration "light" (dealing with paint issues, decals, some interior fixing, a stand, lighting), and should be ready next year.

Always wanted a model with scale people, and love this livery.

I slipped in a photo of a 1/200 McDonnell Douglas Blended Wing and DC-10 twin that I acquired, and swore I'd never get rid of. I ended up trading them 48 hours later for the 1/50 McDonnell Douglas MD-12 (missing interior - need to rebuild). Even more interesting is that the forward lower fuselage is removable and allowed a normal "cargo" section, or the often talked about "Panorama Deck" which featured business class seating in the lower front of the plane (the clear piece was lost, but I'll remake it).

Hello, what a baby! Thanks for the pics. A nice option could be to have it respray in the delivery Continental sheme to match with the late 50's appearance of the characters and the non-fan turbojet engines. Just a point of view. I think the characters are the same that "filled up" the Pacmin DC-6 and DC-7 cutaways.

Great model. And passengers dressed up to fly. Not like the slobs of today.

That is very cool. The guy reading the paper in the A seat looks like my Grandfather.
