True enough. I wouldnt mind getting my hands on a Hobby Master Mig-19 should the company ever make one. They should definitely make several Chinese variant J6 releases since they were made in such large
numbers in China. On my last trip to China, I actually saw one decommissioned and parked in a chinese park surrounded by flower pots. Odd way for a retired to aircraft to spend the rest of its days but yeah.....

I agree with you and Dagebow on the M-III model. There are so many schemes and models to do: Israelis, Argentinians (Malvinas/Falkland time, M-III and Israeli M-V like Dagger, and still flying), South Africans, Australia, France, Pakistan, etc....
I already asked William from HM about this, but from his answer, is doubtfull we will see any HM M-III any time soon....

I would also like A-5, Prowlers, S-2 in all the versions, Mig-25/31 and the Tu-22.
Hustler B-58 in 1/144 at least.

TA-152 and FW-190 in 1/72 (please with proper marks in the tail), ME-210/410, FW-200 (yes!)...

Happy to see the Viggen is coming, I can't wait

I would also like a F-86 Saber done by Hobby Master. Honestly the Corgi one looks a little dated. Its time for some other company to step up to the plate on that one. And since HM has done a Mig 15 already why not a Saber too? An F-35 from Hobby Master in the next two to three years also wouldnt hurt.
I agree Sachiel - the CF 18 would be a great one to have produced. Like your idea of the F35 too - in CAF colors, but be aware for the real life version- that if the lefty Liberals form the next goverment after the May election, than you can bet they will scuttle the deal -read -pull a John Chretien (rmember the EH101 cancellation?)

Oh, well....it will take some years to get all aircraft types in diecast but one thing sure....it will come....the trend nowadays are popular WW2 aircrafts, some post war prop and jet driven aircrafts and modern jets.....but they cant do all at the same time...whenever a manufacturer thinks a particular aircraft will sell....they do it....its making profit that counts after all.....

Definitely the Firefly and CF-18 (pre/post upgrades 1/72 and 1/48). Be nice to also see someone take a chance on some of the big birds...C130, B1, B2, B52 and U2.

AH-1F (you know what, let's just do all of the cobras)

That should be it, for now

Since helicopters were mentioned, Here are the ones I want in 1/72:

Sikorsky H-19 variants (Army/Marine Corps/Navy/Air Force/Coast Guard)
Piasecki/Vertol H-21 Shawnee variants (Army and Air Force)
Sikorsky CH-37 variants (Army and Marine Corps)

And although Corgi has made an Army Sikorsky CH-34C Choctaw, I would like to see see more U.S. variants (Navy/Marines/Coast Guard/Air Force Reserve)

I would love to see HM do a Rafale and the Gripen, also a B1-B & B2 done by CW.
And on the Heli's,I would like to see Corgi do a Merlin & Puma, also a Scout 'like the one's in the film Who Dare's Wins'.

Welcome to the forum CW doing a B1 and B2 is an interesting one. They have the Blackbird, perhaps the B2 would be appropriate.

I would love a diecast 1:48 scale version of the RA-5C Vigilante. It was the cornerstone of the F-14 and F-15. Designed as a Mach 2 Bomber (nuclear) it failed in accuracy. It did however make a great recon aircraft.

I too would like to see a diecast RA-5C Vigilante, but 1/72 Scale makes a lot more sense than 1/48 to make it compatible with all the other Navy/Marine fighters and attack diecast out there from similar eras (F-4, F-8, A-6, A-7, A-4, A-1, F-14, etc.). It would be cheaper than 1/48 also and a better seller.

Another aircraft that would be good to see made in diecast is the V-22 Osprey - CV-22 and/or MV-22 versions would be nice.

The RA-5C would also be a nice addition as well

in the 1/200 scale, some big aircrafts has been done or coming....B-2, SR-71, C-130, C-17, KC-10, and B-52 which is due in February.....I guess a lot of others will follow with the rate its going. In 1/72 scale, the above mentioned aircrafts seems unrealistic due to its size .

S-3 Viking in 1/72

E-2 hawkeye in 1/72 ; A-3 Skywarrior in 1/72

C-130 Hercules in 1/72 or 1/200

HH-65 Dauphin in 1/72

T-38 Talon in 1/72

A decent 1/72 F117, a B29 in 1/72 in 1/200 how about some AWACS aircraft. There are plenty of B707's, B737's and B767's. I believe there would be a market for all of the to be made into AWACS aircraft. I'd certainly buy one of each or more. Finally a 1/72 Lockheed EC-121. I collect all things constellation and would love a 1/72 model of this aircraft

Someone may have already posted this-- I missed it.

I would love to see a big (relatively) 1/72 model of the militarised Dornier Do-26.

Splinter camo and turrets.

Perhaps the most graceful flying boat ever produced.

I saw the plastic and it was a fine model but didn't have the swastika and didn't have the little fan on the nose. Hopefully HM will make one. This tiny little heroic jet almost changed the course of history.

What was so heroic about the Me 163?

In any case virtual_pilot, did you not post in another thread your dislike of World War 2 aeroplanes?

Good choice, 1/200 would also be ideal given the expanding range of military aircraft at this scale.

Yes, I guess 1/200 would be more practical. They could also think about the Tu16 'Badger', there are many variants that could be done.

I would also like to see an RC-121 or an EC-121. I am surprised that Corgi did not produce one as they had the tooling. I have all their USAF/USN C-121's they produced, but would have liked to see one with a dorsal radome.

An RAF Andover as based at Abingdon in the 60s in sand and brown with kneeling undercart and opening rear doors (with Land Rover/Wombat gun load!) Perhaps a big
Hercules C1 in the same scheme to go with it.

I am really enjoying the Hobbymaster F-111s (need an Upper Heyford camo one) and
would pay a lot to any Code 3 modelers to do me an RAF F111K.

Being really awkward, could we have come nuclear stores for F104s, F100s etc?

The RAF really needs some Gloster Javelins with Firestreaks to go with all the Lightnings, and some RN Sea Vixen FAW2s with Red Tops to go with the Corgi Buccaneers.

CW is usually quoted as the appropriate manufacturer. The basis being their US naval model aeroplanes. HM being a secondary contender I think. Or how about Witty - that would suprise us all

I left off my major wish for a really smart looking model. A B 58 Hustler with opening cockpit canopies and all the right pods. Any scale, but 1-72 would be fine of course.

On the Soviet front what about the awesome Tupolev Fiddler long range fighter complete with its massive missiles?

I'd like to see USN Pre-WWII F3F-2B, Curtiss'sss'ssss, I'm glad that Oxford Diecast is going to be releasing an Arado float plane in 1/72. I'd love to see more Korean and Vietnam era aircraft. How bout an F-82 Twin Mustang or a F7F Tigercat in 1/72. I'm not particluar on brands. I love Corgi, SkyMax, WarMaster, Hobby Master.

1/72 will result in quite a large model However most collectors will be content with a 1/200 diecast one. Bears do get intercepted a lot

There are precedents for such large models being made in 1/72 diecast (well one anyway).

Dingler made the Dornier X Flying Boat in 1/72 diecast (and that has a span of 48m - two less than that of the Bear).

I can't imagine Dingler made a heap of money on the model as both schemes and appeal for the big boat are limited.

It is perhaps more a matter of national pride in the diecast company that some models are made I think - Corgi made the TSR-2, Canadian Heritage put out the Avro Arrow, Dingler made the Dornier (and a Connie) - so perhaps some Russian oil oligarch can fund a Bear. I'd hazard a guess that all of the models listed above were loss-leaders for the companies concerned.

I know some collectors would never shell out the likely price of such a model (a few hundred shekels I'd guess) but I'd be in for collecting fewer, larger, more unusual types instead of hundreds of Tomcats and Spitfires for the rest of my hobby days - selfishly, I'd like a British type before a Russian type - VC-10, Vulcan, Victor, Shack....

I've had the occasion to see the 1:72 Dornier and the Connie models at a local collector...Trully amaizing.
Now I'm waiting to see the Corgi's Stirling coming out...
Although these are great large die-cast models, I would prefer to see some modern bombers and tankers...
B1 Lancer, B-52 & KC135...these are available in model plastic kits so I think its possible....It just needs a good sponsor...

I have the Connie - lovely model, despite the heavy panel lines. Captures the lines of the bird as no smaller scale has IMHO.

The B-52 would be enormous in 1/72 (best part of three feet long if I am remembering the Monogram kit dimensions correctly) and might collapse under it's own weight if made of metal - Lancer and 135 are more do-able

The KC-135 & B-52 are close in fuselage lenght...the main difference is in the wingspan as B52 is larger...
The integration of plastic components and aluminum alloy would reduce the weight significantly...

Sticking to the original thrust of this thread, including the 1:72nd scale mandate, I would temper my request for new toolings by naming planes that I think a "quality" diecast manufacturer might be willing to have a go at while still expecting to make a profit. That, of course, narrows my wishlist down considerably. I think that I'd opt for a Betty made by HM, a Tojo made by SkyMax and an A-20 put out by Corgi ( a very likely development ).

While I'd love to see more biggies made by the established diecast entities, I think that these are more likely to come in the 1:144th scale----especially if HM's foray into that arena with its upcoming B-24 is successful. In that event, anything is possible. The new Amercom bomber line is also worth watching in this regard. It has already given us a 1:200th scale B-52 and a 1:144th scale B-17F. Next up is a B-24 in the same scale to be followed by a Vulcan and who knows what else. Dare I hope for a B-58, B-47, TU-16, TU-95, etc.?

Well there were a couple of models I wanted in 1/72 scale but I could not track down their existance. So instead I decided to make them from scratch: Both in BA livery, a Twin Otter and a Shorts 360.
