I am comparing them in terms of their quality and details. What I don't like about HM is the panel lines are heavily over done that kill the paint job on the model. The WW details include movable elevators, a deployable speed brake that can be held open with the hinged hydraulic actuator, detailed landing gear struts, doors and wells, and independently hinged stabilators and rudders that remain firmly in place when adjusted etc..
You still can find a RAAF HM one these days at a decent price but a WW/AV72 superhornet of previous two releases is very hard to find not even for a crazy price.

that's only on the legacy hornet- super hornets have slats or pipes to brake the speed instead of a hinged brake. WW's legacy hornets are poop- the nose is wrong. WW's super hornets on the other hand, are the best you can get.

It's funny, some of your biggest positives are my biggest negatives. The speedbrakes are generally very poor fitting on the Witty models I've seen when they're closed, to the point that I'd have to display them open as they look terrible when they are not deployed. HM's brakes are far more flush fitting. And I've gone on and on about it in other threads, but those movable stabs with their massive gaps really break the scale illusion to me more than the larger panel lines on the HM models ever would - it tends to make them look like toys to me.
But there's absolutely room for variation in this hobby - thank goodness. It's great that there is competition and I've certainly got my eye on this new RAAF Super Hornet.
No word from anyone if HM is likely to make a F/A-18F in the future?

As much as I dreamed about HM making the F/A-18F in RAAF colour, its a better bet to place on the Strike Eagle for HM next Teen series release than the Super Bug, Since William did at one stage said that they will be doing so once the JSF has been put on the production line, so maybe end of this year for the Eagle (at best?).
I will have the RAAF Super Hornet for sale early June, it was commissioned by us (Sky Guardians Australia), it is the Witty Wings Sky Guardians, please visit www.skyguardians.com.au where I have just placed a photo of the actual model, it is from Squadron No 1, A44-208

Thanks for the update, would you be able to disclose why a third 1SQN Super Hornet was selected, while there are no examples of a 6SQN Rhino? Or is that planned for a future release?
There was a 6SQN done with the initial release 224.
Ah, yes, you are correct. You have now inadvertently made me discover that A44-224, has in fact, incorrect squadron markings. So there is an opportunity still to make the first 'correct' 6SQN Rhino.
The earlier models were done by Aviation72 for another customer, and yes you are spot on about the markings, 224 had the kookaburra instead of the boomerang. As of this one I have had it made as the distributor of Witty Wings in Australia and was glad to get any RAAF Rhino they would do for me, hopefully if this goes well I will try to get them to do a 6SQN in the future. You can go to my website www.skyguardians.com.au and view a photo of the completed model.
Thanks, I would also like to commend you on your efforts to get RAAF diecast aircraft made, if only your counterparts at Corgi/Hornby could make the same effort as you.
I am afraid the color of the nose cone should not be this light if you compare to the real aircraft. This issue has been raised before. I hope the final product will take this into the consideration.
gaetanoelevato, this is the biggest pre-pro photo I could find on your website, any chance of a better photo? Do you have any input into the nose cone colour adjustment?
I have not seen this model in person, but some recent pics of other WW F-18 Super Hornets, from what I can make out, seem to show that they have the ECS Cooling bard stack / pipes on the rear between the tail fins.
So if they make this model with those, it will be a big change from the previous / first release.

early s/hornets had slats, newer ones have pipes. WW make s/hornets that represent both types.

Yes, they do seem to do so, my RAAF Super Hornet has the slats, which is obviously incorrect as RAAF super bugs are block 2 jets and they have the pipes.
Go to my webpage www.skyguardians.com.au and you will see the preproduction photo on the new witty fa/18f in raaf livery. Also how do you post a picture on this forum?
gaetanoelevato, we would really like to see bigger photos, if the IT guru from your company can't help you, go to a photo hosting site like photobucket. Then link the photo on these forums.
I don't think these models have glossy paint, they usually come from the factory with a thin coating of a greasy substance that wipes off pretty easy.
Witty's RAAF Super Hornet A44-208 just landed on my doorstep this morning and is now safely hangered in my cabinet. I already have the two previous Super Hornets and as you can see from my pics there are a few differences with this latest release.
Firstly there is an option for undercarriage up or down (fixed down in previous ones) and secondly there is finally a selection of weapons to hang from the thing as well as a fixed ATFLIR on the left fuselage station.
For some strange reason the rear crew member comes firmly glued in their seat whereas the front guy arrives separately in the box. My personal preference is to always pull these silly little figures out and let them live out eternity in the box but in this case there was so much glue on the fixed guy that I had to let his mate join him.
I'm not going to comment on the authenticity of the markings as I'm no judge but the dark grey of the roundels, tail markings and serial numbers is much darker than the earlier models. In fact is is the same shade as Hobby Masters Legacy Hornets so perhaps that is the correct colour?
I'm happy to have this one join my collection but hopefully this will be the last as that's three out of twenty four aircraft modeled and I don't really have room for anymore.
Witty seem to have problems correctly painting the JDAMs, either all grey or all green, almost think HM should go into the spare ordinance market full on (I know they did an A-10 pack) coz I reckon they'd make a killing arming every other manufacturers models
I've placed my order today for one of these from Skyguardians via email.
I'm still kicking myself for not seeing the first 5 real jets when they spent 3 days in Auckland on their delivery flight, I was at tech and I heard what I was certain were fast jet, but seeing how New Zealand deemed fast jets offensive to our airforce and got rid of them, I knew I was mistaken.I had no idea the Super Hornets were inbound to Auckland International at all.
I found out that night that they were here and I was advised that they would depart early next morning, so on my way to tech, I went past the airport turn off and was in two minds whether to turn off or take the morning off school to go see them, but then convinced myself that they had already left for Aussie, I decided to go to class, turns out, they left the next day, so I could have seen them.
Now all I have is this Youtube vid of their arrival and knowing how close I was to them, yet so far.

Save your pennies and come on over to the Avalon airshow next year mate
Oh & if you are not already on it, have a look & join up to the Wings Over New Zealand Forum, you'll be up to date with all sorts of aircraft activity there in Godsown country
Mate I would love to go over to Avalon. I won't be able to make it next year, but if the rumors are wrong and they still have it in 2017 I'll be there.
I am on Wings over NZ forum, my screen name is bell407.
