They sell out??!! I thought HMs and many others have an eternal run?
While I have several HMs in my collection, I have to admit the quality is satisfactory, that's to say, I cannot find anything negative about it but I have to say CW is a step above, though not by a mile.
Love your SR71s man! That's next on my target list!
In all reality, HM are "limited editions" as well otherwise the market would be flooded with their models. They just don't announce the number. Check this previous auction out for an Hobby master f-4
So yea...some models are highly sought after once it sells out.
I bet this F-22 will be the same since it is the best one for a long time. This particular release also carries the “FF042” tail code which is the first operational raptor to enter service at Langley AFB so it carries some historic value.
You can still pick this F-22 up at AimHigherJets for a decent price. Plus, (if you are interested in an F-4) I recommend Robin Olds- with this color and famous pilot, I'm sure these would go up in value over time. Item: HA1912. Also available at AimHigherJets, join their facebook fan page to receive coupons.

I am so glad that I found this forum...I have gotten boatloads of info from you guys...I was gonna add the F22 to my collection at a later date... but I guess I'd better get it while the gettin' is good...especially since its an Air Force bird...nothing against the Navy or the Marines
I got my F22 today. Man, that was fast shipment. Onmarkint is on the ball. The F22 looks great. I'm so glad I pulled the trigger on this baby. She looks awesome with the rest of my birds.I'm not concerned about the gap. I would have never noticed it, so I don't believe anyone else will either. Overall, I'm happy.
You’ve been waiting for it, and it’s finally here – the next F-22 Raptor. This one replicates the aircraft flown by the 302nd Fighter Squadron, 477th Fighter Group, stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska…the first F-22 sold out to dealers quickly, so place your pre-orders for this one now! - eztoys

Just pulled the trigger on the F-22 Can't wait, also bought the Corgi "Skyblazers" F-86 Saber, I know Corgis Sabres aren't the best but I had to get this paticular Sabre. Those of you who've seen Dale "Snort" Snodgrass fly will understand
Hope to see some more modern aircraft and schemes from HM like the F-15E, and an F-111 in a low vis scheme.
She just arrived last week via Flying Mule. I'm not exaggerating when I say incredible. Possibly the best diecast Raptor I've seen down to the paint scheme and glass cockpit instruments

I pulled the trigger on HB's Robin Olds F4 Phantom. It looks awesome. I expected more heft, but i am well pleased, plus I got a good deal on it.
I just found DA.C while looking for a scale model of the F-22 and this looks like the best one out there. It would be my first model of any aircraft since I have only been collecting diecast cars, mainly 1:18 scale for the past 10 years. After the recent price increases and quality control issues like blistering paint and zinc pest I need a new subject matter.
I didn't mean to "hijack" this thread but I was not sure where to post this. Have any of you guys noticed any paint blistering or cracking on your models? What about the dreaded zinc pest?

Don't worry about the aircrafts model. Quality control is better than you can see on diecast cars. I used to collect the diecast cars too but I decided finish with this. Becouse the quality is really poor (as you're wrote). Sure, if there's out a must have 1/18 model i'd like to buy this (doesn't matter which quality i'll get).
Never seen something wrong with Aircraft's models. It looks as is on the official pics (mean Hobby Master and Century Wings).
And if you're recieved any jet with a defect it will be very easy to fix (rarely really).

The HM F22 model seems better than the WW a lots! I think I will also choose the HM one instead. SuperKungFu!! Nice Job~ Tonight I will back home and test my model by using your information, thanks!
the second F-22 is coming soon with even more improvements and loads of missiles. Will surely get one.....with the tailcode AK stationed in Alaska....a real beauty...

I collect 1/18 cars as well (my model collection is very wide) and I am not sure aircraft models are in a better position regarding quality control. Of my hundreds of aircraft (civil and military), I'd say at least a quarter has some sort of QC issue that I know of. It could be paint or glue issues, alignment, scratches, etc. and mostly small but some better left alone than repaired. In some cases like on Century Wings and the HM F-22, I've seen gaps due to the "shrinkage" of the zinc alloy right from the factory, and though I still got the models, I'd not say they're 100% defect free.
Regarding the zinc pest, I've already noted it does happen to 1/200 airliner models. Some manufacturers in China source their raw materials from unreliable suppliers: it's supposed to lower their costs.
After collecting diecast cars for nearly 10 years I understand that nothing is really perfect, but some of the defects from companies like AUTOart are astonishing. Not to mention the outrageous price increases from $50 3-4 years ago to $122 today. I want so many models but at those prices I just cannot afford all of them and then on top of that you worry about defects.

Not to be too picky but has HM ever given any thought to actually placing some green plastic in the Raptors cockpit for the HUD. I didn't think much about it at first but whenever I see upclose pictures of the F-22 the HUD is really visible.
got mine, very nice, also a F2-B from the guy I bought mine as a bonus!!! both mint in box... I was about to pick up my Franklin Mint 1:48 F-22 from a buddy cheap ($60) but not sure if I should now... I am collecting F-22 stuff mainly, and I was thinking of picking up the FM for fun... any advice??? or should I stick to the 1:72???
thanks!!!
I would just stick with 1:72, FM's f-22 is sorta....for a lack of better words...a giant paper weight lol
well thanks so much for the super quick response... I just love the HM stuff so far, and I just wanted to know if buying the FM F-22's and stuff were even worth my while... I have the new HM F-22 on preorder as well, and I will probably pick up some others of theirs as well, I also got a F2-B in the deal, and all I can say is WOW... these models looks absolutely fantastic... I will post pics soon, I can't wait to get them out of the boxes...
