Wow..Mohican! The photography is great..the backdrops are stellar! I love your presentation. That is what makes the difference between a 'ho-hum' collection and a seriously good one! I'm heading out the door as soon as I post this and going to the hobby store!

Champ, that's definitely a backdrop photo. Waaay too detailed, and in the top pic you can see the deck monkeys working.

Thanks. The carrier island is just a backdrop. In this case, PC monitor. I just placed the models and deck foil in front of the monitor. For others, I printed out the background.

I've always admired your beautiful backdrops. Is that how you have so many different ones, just dial up a scene on your computer? Very clever, yet somehow, the magic got lost... But just the same, please keep showing your wonderful photos. It adds so much to a model to have a realistic setting, and you have a way of displaying them perfectly.

Mohican, were you in the USAF? You're attention to detail with regards to the AGE equipment is awesome. The attention to detail with the placement of reflectors and stencils on the AGE, and even the red pintle hooks makes your pictures very realistic.

No, I was not in USAF. The closest to AF was ROTC (university) and CAP. I end up becoming a COP. Now I'm a stay-home DAD. I always enjoyed going to the airshows and Armed Forces Day events.

The flight deck is 1/200th. I scaled down from the original 1/144th. You can download it from Century Wings' website for free. It will be in PDF file so adjust it to your preference.

This one was made by Takara Tomy. It is pre-painted model kit. It's been out of production for a while now, but I still see it on eBay from time to time. Warning though, the fit of the kit was not that great. Need some model building experience to fix some issues.

Yes, I just stuck a piece of thin plastic and colored it green. I also touched up on nose gear and main gears.

Hi ANA Mohican, I liked your models alot. In fact many pictures looked real. What about the pilots? like the one in this corsair, they are definitely not CW pilots. Where did you get them from?

I'm more interested in the carrier flightdeck, did you make you own or can someone me get one.
I'm a huge collector of Micro Machines Military and have well over 100 planes of the F-14 and 18 plus prowlers and HH-53, so I could fill out a deck

Thank you.

The pilots and GSEs are all from Hasegawa model kit. They need to be assembled and painted. The kit should be widely available at hobby shops and eBay.

and thanks for the translation.

Randy, you can download a PDF of the deck from Century Wings website. Go to the 1/144th section.

You should patch up those F-22 gaps with some elmer's glue mixed with Dark Gull Gray, this is mine now

Interesting technique. I was thinking of using thin strip of Tamiya epoxy and airbrushing it, but your technique seems much more simpler. I shall experiment it. Thank you.
