Default Hobbymaster April (?) 2022 Releases

I get confused by the release months. I think these are "April 2022"

HA6616A Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 ZK301/D, 1435 Flight, RAF Mount Pleasant, Falkland Islands, 2015 (with air to air missiles only)

HA6616B Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 ZK301/D, 1435 Flight, RAF Mount Pleasant, Falkland Islands, 2015 (with air to air missiles + Paveway IV bombs x 4)

HA2822 Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale Lockheed F-22A Raptor 04-4064/HH, USAF, Hickham AFB, 2018

HA19035 Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale RF-4EJ “501st Squadron Retirement Scheme” 67-6380, JASDF, 2020

HA3565 Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale F/A-18A Hornet “Cylon 02” BuNo 162416, VFA-127, US Navy, 1995

HA9503 Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale Su-30SM Flanker Russian Knights Blue 34, RF-81705, Russian Air Force, 2019

HA5313 Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale MiG-23ML Red 610, East Germany (GDR), 1990

HA5312 Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale MiG-23MLD Blue 03, Soviet Air Force, Bagram, Afghanistan, July 1987

HA1064 Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale Lockheed F-104F “Starfighter” BB+377, Waffenshule Der Luftwaffe 10, 1961

HA1063 Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale Lockheed F-104J “TAC Meet 1981” 46-8587, JASDF, Komatsu Air Base, 15th Nov 1981

HA2917 Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale Douglas A-1H Skyraider 412, VA-176, USS Intrepid, 1966

HA8612 Hobbymaster 1/48th scale Hawker Hurricane IIc “Operation Jubilee” BN320/FT-A, No. 43 Squadron, 19th August 1942

HA8653 Hobbymaster 1/48th scale Hawker Hurricane IIc BE581, F/Lt Karel M Kuttlelwasher, No.1 Sqn., Tangmere 1942

HA8654 Hobbymaster 1/72nd scale Hawker Hurricane IIc BD983, S/L James MacLachlan, No.1 Sqn., Northolt from November 1941 to June 1942

---

sorry i didnt post the pics. im sure you can find them soon.

my take:

- "Cylon 02" = desert camo aggressor hornet = must get.
- JASDF Phantom retirement "end of the film" scheme - companion to the blue one they announced not too long ago. I'll get this too.

- they are re-running the "stingers" skyraider. of course, this is pretty consistent with them re-running a lot of popular usn/usmc releases - everything from near copies of showtime phantom to the 232 harrier to the aardvark phantom recently.

- the JASDF f-104 is interesting. i wont get it, but its interesting.

- the hurricnes are boring. still waiting on the 1/48 sea hurricanes or desert hurricanes, hm!

- the typhoons are even more boting than the hurricanes.

still, overall with 2 releases i like, i'm happy.

A 1/72 Hurricane? Is that right?

Sorry - I copied and pasted that list from another source and didn't notice that. I suspect that's a misprint and it should be 1/48.

I kinda hope it’s right. I’d love to see a few new 1/72 Hurricanes.

eh, no thank you. but, you know, whatever floats your boat.

i think cooler heads in both corgi and hm see that as the collecting based gets older, for single-engine ww2 subjects anyway, 1/48 is the future. The problem of course is that 1/72 is the right scale for larger ww2 subjects. there's no easy answer, but i mean really.. hasnt corgi done enough good enough hurricanes in 1/72? plus or minus some minor technical gripe, what more could you want?

Well, nobody has released an RCAF Hurricane (despite Corgi semi-inaccurately putting RCAF on the Willie McKnight Hurricane box - Canadian pilot/RAF plane). HM seems more likely to tackle non-British releases, so that’s my thinking on that one. Also, not everyone has space for a 1/48 collection. I don’t really know how anybody does, honestly. I’ll never buy a 1/48 release so I’m all for more 1/72 WWII subjects.

i have the black/white ones too and they're pretty toylike. the worst of hm's JASDF phantoms.

but, the blue/yellow and the blue/green pairs look much better.

incidentally - we're still waiting hobbymaster or, better still, air commander:

Hobby Master is going to make me very happy with that A1 Skyraider (HA2917), I thought I could never get that color scheme with the bee and lightning bolt drawing anymore

I still think that the Japanese F4 Phantom that they should take out is the digital camouflage

yes, they should. they should also do the vaguely similar naval aviation centenniary hornet that witty did years ago. hm has already said they can't do the digital camo, but that's in all likelihood bull**** and they will do it at some point.

about the skyraider: it is regularly available on ebay.

also: this with metallic paint would be awesome just because:

I like all the F4 Phantoms :-)

As Hobby Master made all the Japanese schemes that come out there, they would have to dedicate a whole year just for them :-)

April’s Release Poster is out on Hobby Master Collector and in my view blurred ( intentionally or not) see for yourself….unless I need glasses…. https://hobbymastercollector.com/ind...lease-posters/

At this point….I’m retiring from seeking and presenting the official release poster as I have been doing for these most recent times.

FS has been preempting the posting of the official release poster with previewed text descriptions of what’s to come…..that is his prerogative.

We’ve have tried to keep a standard title verbatim for the monthly release poster.

However, the text preview’s (no pictures) have been titled close to the standard format title we have tried to maintain.

Since this (FS’s) thread is titled “Hobbymaster April (?) 2022 Releases” and members have already posted to it…..there’s no sense in starting a new thread titled “ Hobby Master April 2022 Releases”

FS can take over now…and start a preview thread under the traditional official titled release format, and then when the actual official release poster is available, he can post it to the thread he creates. (hopefully he will be vigilant in doing so).

Here’s my last courtesy act of posting the official April release poster…..albeit blurred. If FS can find a clearer poster, then so be it.

I’m not leaving the forum….I’m just handing the release poster posting to FS. I don’t want to mix two threads with the same subject matter.

The opinions of members should stay consistent on one single thread to maintain continuity.

BB

For what it’s worth…..

Think you should stay dude! I look forward to seeing your post every month. Your excellent work is like an institution. Anyway, what`s the use of having a release list with no pictures! As Carly Simon sang:-

"Nobody does it b-e-t-t-e-r...."
