Default Dassault Mirage III

Today is Bastille day, and the Dassault Store announced a Mirage III.

Previous efforts in the scale were by Altaya (III E) and Falcon (various verions inclduing the III C).

Is that a 1/72 scale?

Oui monsieur, c'est au 1/72.

From a discussion on another forum, it seems Dassault commissioned Ixo to produce several models for their 100th anniversary, in 2016. For whatever reasons the models were tooled but not released, the Mirage III is the first of those to reach retailer shelves. The others include Ouragan, Mystère IV A, Mirage IV A, and Flamant.

Hopefully we will also see them for sale!

So many Mirage III schemes to be done. Awesome aircraft and the best era for interesting camo schemes. Really glad to finally see a Mirage III

Yes they did and I bought a few of them including IAF Kfirs. Im still happy with them but if there's an improved mould, I'd be happy to replace them and also continue where I left off. Considering Falcon did a Kamikaze death drop!!

Sadly it’s unlikely that we will see anything but French Mirage IIIs which I find terribly disappointing.

Still,……great to see them in diecast again.

I know longer believe that the licensing for the Mirage III is an impediment for HM to produce the type. Not after yet more Mirage 2000 and the intention to go down the Rafale route.

So I am still in hope that HM will give it a go and give us the plethora users that operated the type.

i think it's fair to anticipate that these mirage 3 models will be in similar quality to their mirage 2000. in other words, the photos may be ok, but they will in the end still be overpriced IXO and nothing to get too excited about.

I'll have a 2000N and and F1 from Dassault premium and they are great.

Only the Rafale I'll don't like from them (too gappy).

They may not be in HM`s or CalWings class, but they certainly look good. Can`t really compare them to IXO with their over accentuated panel lines. In fact, the distinct lack of panel lines on this Mirage III makes it even more appealing with it being in natural metal finish. Nothing worse than deep panel lines on shiny NMF aircraft. Just look`s naff. Simpler is sometimes better.
I`ll certainly be buying one.

Given Panzerkampf are releasing Rafale and Mirage 2000's I'm hoping they may get around to the Mirage III too. At the rate they are announcing new products (albeit mainly CAD, so far from guarenteed) we may see it sooner rather than later!

There are Mirage III s that were produced by Armour/Franklin mint more then a decade ago, albeit in the 1/48 scale. Some are still to be found for sale on the "sale" forum.

I know but I prefer models in 1/48 unless they have some special significance ( IDF scheme or the Kfir version would interest me ). Looks looks good though.

The flag on the rudder could have been better.

Berna decals can fix the problem.

Anyone here in US also want this Mirage III? The initial shipping cost for one mirage is 30 euro with two and three unit shipping cost same at 42 euro and 4 unit shipping cost 52 euro. I am up for two of these. if anyone else from US interested also getting one, i think splitting the shipping cost will make it a better deal.

Dassault ships very fast 3 day shipping but the shipping cost is def a bit high ;(

The Franklin Mint Mirage III is an oldie. Wish I could say that I love the model, but it seems like diecast manus often struggle with the pointy-end on "needle-nose-fighters." Here's a pic of mine:

Many thanks for these pictures.

This model reminds me the time when I built a Mirage III C from an Airfix kit, same scale.

Outside of my collecting criteria but in those days the Mirage III C was a fantastic aircraft competing with the F 104.
I will buy this model.

French collectors would be very happy to welcome Mirage IV, Mystère IV, Ouragan and Flamant ...

Jean Pierre.

I`ve always loved the Mirage lll in NMF French scheme since i first read `The Aeronauts` Annual back in 1973 when i was little. Based on the French series "Les chevaliers du ciel". Though i`ve never had chance to see the actual series. Brings back memories.

I`d definitely buy a Mystere IV and Mirage IV in NMF. A Vautour would be great to see too.

I have received my model from Dassault store.

Very nice, better on its landing gear than on its stand.
Be careful and keep in mind that when handling this model, it has a Pitot tube ...

I look forward to seeing, Ouragan, Mystère IV, Mirage IV and Flamant in the coming months.

I bought mine from the Dassault store, and it took just over a week to get here in the U.K. I would assume it`ll take a few weeks to get to the U.S.A. and maybe a week-couple of weeks through customs? I received a tracking number when they shipped it. It usually takes around a month to get items from the U.S to England in my experience.

They ship via UPS to US (not via UK or US postal). Which is superfast 5 days or less once UPS receives the package from them. The problem is that they don't fill the order and send the package to UPS.

My first time ordering from them was right after they reopen from the pandemic last year. From time of order placement to receiving the item was superfast at a week total.. Then when I placed another order about 5 months later, they did not send me any tracking info for a week. I sent in multiple emails. They got back to me with a reply AFTER I received the package. Total time from order to receive package 2 weeks. But the total time spent with UPS was actually only 4 days! So that shows they really delay filling the order for some reasons and they never really reply back to my inquiries

Fast forward to now.... It's now about week 3. No reply email from my inquiries with a tracking numberr. No package... No nothing!! I don't know why they can't even send me a reply! I am gonna have to put in an inquiry via my credit card company soon. The problem is that my credit card company will most likely just issue a refund back to me and then probably force them to issue the refund back to the credit card company and the whole order get canceled. I don't want to cancel the order!! I just want my damn order!! ;(

I notice they are now out of 2000-5. I hope they will get some in stock again soon for anyone else that wants one. They also used to have the 2000N and it's not even listed anymore now.... Sad because that was probably the only 1/72 2000N you could get from anywhere!
