Default HM CF-188A Hornet CAF 425 Sqn, Libya (HA3559)

Hobby Master CF-188A Hornet CAF 425 Sqn, Libya, QIAS 2016 (HA3559) 1/72 Diecast Model. (December/January release)

In 2011 RCAF CF-188A '759' (188759) was in service in the 'No Fly Zone' in Libya. This became a showpiece aircraft in the 2016 Quinte International Airshow in Trenton, ON and was flown by Captain Sebastien T Verrault "Seabass".

**Limited to 750 worldwide.**
Option to display the model on a stand that is provided.
Model can be shown with the landing gear in the down or up positions.
Canopy can be displayed open or closed.
Pilot figure included.

Pre-order from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum here:
https://www.warplane.com/gift-shop/v...odel-1-72.aspx

For those who missed Hobby Master’s now highly sought after original CF-188 Hornet release, or for those who wish for an update to the original with the upgraded landing gear, here it is! Although this wears a different registration from the first “No Fly Zone” release, the livery is otherwise the same.

I have every Hobby Master Canadian Hornet - but will be passing on this rather uninspired release.

Wasn't a similar version already done a few years ago?

I believe so, this is essentially a re-release. I don't have an issue with it since, if you're like me and wanted this one but couldn't hope to find one... bam.

It's plain, sure, but it's my country, and honestly I dig the mirror scheme.

The original was over a decade ago. The Hornet mold has been improved significantly since then, especially the stance when positioned on landing gear. If you have the original and are happy with it, you probably don’t need this one. Personally, I would have preferred the updated RCAF livery in a different squadron, but I’ll keep my collection complete. The original “No Fly Zone” Hornet now goes for ridiculous prices, so this will please those who want an operational Canadian Hornet that saw combat.
