Default WANTED : Gaincorp SU-33 Sea Flanker #86 or #63

Evening all ! Greeting from Paris. I have just joined the forum, with quite a big diecast collection started some 4 years ago (mainly propeller and jet aircrafts that have something to do with Asia at large=). Today I am looking for a Gaincorp Sukhoi 33 Sea Flanker Red 86 or Red 63 (only these) because the three-tone color scheme seems to me gorgeous and quite close to the real colors (do you agree?). If anybody of you have one for sale, or an advice or contact, you will be much welcome ! I have checked on ebay but only round the #29 which is less attractive=( Many thanks! Enjoy the weekend !

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I agree with you. The Gaincorp Su-33 does look great with it`s folding wings and colour scheme. It`s the only Gaincorp i have in my collection now. It makes a nice companion to the HM Su-33`s, as long as you don`t compare them too closely!

Although i don`t have one for sale, have you searched small stores that deal in dis-continued and rare die-cast models other than E-bay? I have just purchased a long dis-continued new old stock Marushin Type 93 Willow floatplane kit for $130 from such a store in the U.S. which i would never have thought i would see again for sale. I only came across this by chance by doing a google search of the aircraft model and looking through the search result images. Clicked on the image and it brought up the store. As luck would have it, the model was in stock! so it`s worth searching for such stores.

Good luck with your quest. I`m sure you`ll find one with perseverance and patience!

Just out of curiosity, the greenish tone on the Gaincorps Su-33 look a bit unreal. I’ve never seen such scheme on any photos. Can anyone actually show me some evidence that this three tone livery did exist?

I certainly would`nt say this scheme is accurate, or the aircraft model itself, but you could say that for models produced right now too! (Just search this forum). The big draw for Gaincorp Su-33`s IMHO, has always been the folding wings and stabilisers. You have to remember also, that this was the only diecast Su-33 produced back then. So this was it,or nothing.

I still like `em!
