Default Landed: Corgi Eindecker

Arriving yesterday was this nice little model. I have been a fan of the Corgi line of 1:48 scale WWI aircraft, of which this is my eighth. I think they did a really nice job with this historic plane largely, especially the EIII, responsible for the Fokker Scourge early in the The Great War. Corgi used string, not wire, for the support lines which are all tight and crisp.

A wonderful plane indeed......

The Fokker Eindecker fighters were a series of German World War I monoplane single-seat fighter aircraft designed by Dutch engineer Anthony Fokker.[2] Developed in April 1915, the first Eindecker ("Monoplane") was the first purpose-built German fighter aircraft and the first aircraft to be fitted with a synchronization gear, enabling the pilot to fire a machine gun through the arc of the propeller without striking the blades.[2] The Eindecker gave the German Army's Air Service (then the Fliegertruppen des deutschen Kaiserreiches) a degree of air superiority from July 1915 until early 1916. This period, during which Allied aviators regarded their poorly armed aircraft as "Fokker Fodder", became known as the "Fokker Scourge".

Do you own any of the Carousel 1 AirCraft brand of 1:48’s WWI era planes? If so, what do you think of quality and airframes/schemes choices they have had?

Corgi 1/48 WWI fighters aficionados will cry in their soup if they miss this little monster. The Flying Mule just sold out and won't get more. The Motor Pool too is quickly running out of stock as are other online vendors and eBay sellers. The Fokker E.II Eindecker is a bonafide hit, and you'd be nutz not to get one while they last. I positively love mine.

Like the 1/48 birds but I am lowing this one due to third middle strut on undercarriage. next one should be better.
Nice model though.

Well I decided to pre-order this one instead ..... I’m breaking with tradition of not getting anymore 1/48’s but for this one to add to my Red Baron/Richthofen/Hartmann theme....I will make an exception! With coupon it’s $50. USD total!
