I sure hope calibre wings doesn't run out of money soon. It all sounds great and so far, Calibre Wings have delivered on their promises, but this is starting to smell a bit like overpromising. It seems CalW announcements seem to follow forum (+fb) chatter rather than actual development. The development process is expensive and I'm seeing plenty of unsold inventory on eBay (along with a few sell outs).

I'd certainly feel more confident if we saw more pics of F-16, Su22, B58 and other things announced long ago rather than already very basic drawings of S2 and other things literally after a poll or some forum discussion.

Also: MiG-31 has very few livery choices. Basically one operator. How is this a rational business choice? Of course, it could be done like HM did their MiG-25 (cheaply), but even so.. this has far less possibility even than MiG-25.

Lots of recent announcements, not many models. I really hope this works out for CalW.

Back to the MiG31. Yeah, I'll take one. Wouldn't have been my first, second or third Soviet choice though.

i wonder if there isn't a bit of a license war here, once you have an agreement for the mig 31 nobody else can make one, at least in 1/72 scale.

as a practical matter, no, not really.

russian/soviet aircraft manufacturers are extremely unlikely to be savvy or competent enough to care/notice/be able to take action.

with dassault and/or certain american companies, it is a concern. where soviet and russian aircraft are concerned, it's for all practical purposes open season.

and, as it were, altaya or one of its clones/brands made a mig31. it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good, either. some silly people probably paid silly money for it at some point.
