Would be awesome with the bomb doors open to reveal Little Boy (or Fat Man).

Just wondered if they will release it on the 100th anniversary of the dropping of the bombs.

sure, go on, champ - keep repeating tired and lame delivery date jokes about the one company that is exciting the diecast world these days.

as far as B29 goes - the silverplate (atomic) b29s had some modifications. while CalW might want to do versions for both the silverplate and non-silverplate versions, i think a smarter move if they have to do just one is to ignore the hiroshima/nagasaki aircraft. Not only will this steer them clear of some measure of controversy, but it also opens the door to plenty of very good liveries - and there really are a boatload of nice B29 liveries. Even if they re-did the Corgi B-29s (1/144), less the atomic ones, they'd be in great shape.

Also - and this is in no way obvious - but I have seen really good scale models of B-29s sell and not sell in Japan. The ones that firebombed tokyo sell fine - the atomic ones do not. I don't think its a historical sensitivity to the atomic bombings issue at play - after all, the fire bombings killed more. Rather, it's that the city raid types display well with models of the defending japanese fighters. if calw wants to sell to japan, then that's the way to go - and there's no better choice for a first release than "leading lady" - relatively simple, universally popular livery.

A fortune, I should imagine. Somewhere in the region of £200+.

S2F Tracker is next, then the MiG-31.

Nothing definite on a B-29.
