i'm not sure the latter makes sense economically, but i'll take it!
as far as the tracker goes, the fact that CalW are willing to take this on says a lot, since there's no good kit (in 1/72) to copy - only an old (Hasegawa?) kit that is pretty poor by today's standards.
So they’re going to make a Tracker. I can’t pretend I felt the Earth move. I might get one. The F7F is more interesting but since that’s only a possible I’ll leave it there.
However, as an indication that they’re not a jets only company, overall it’s good news.

You're selling the tracker (+tracer?) short. It's a good looking aircraft with that overall square top profile that tends to make good models. It has an interesting history, plenty of operators, and plenty of liveries. I'd love a folding wing version, but I suspect I may be in the minority here ( I suspect calW would do a credible job, unlike several other folding wing attempts).
F7F i'm just going to shut up about because I personally want one or even several, even though it was a historically marginal aircraft. So, if CalW makes em, super!
(The above is a what-if livery = not historical).
in general, i think the two choices by calW are damn near perfect if they are going to make 1/72 prop aircraft. I'm not too interested in anything smaller in 1/72 and if they get these right maybe they can be persuaded to make some bigger ones or other 'similar era' us navy aircraft. can a 1/72 skyknight or demon be that far in the future? Probably yes, but ... a girl can dream.
I wish the F7F would have been a little quicker in development. I wonder how well it would have done in WWII. Otherwise, it saw very little combat correct? Maybe just a bit in the Korean War, any other operational action?

Calw has the dream cat thing so if they make a f7f, we can have a few f7fs like the one fs showed

TBH, I'm more excited about the prospect of a Tigercat being made. Never thought much of the Tracker, always thought it was just pedestrian. However, the E-2C never impressed me much, either, but the HM model I have is absolutely one of my favorites in my collection. So, I will wait to see how the Tracker project progresses. My guess is I will end up with one!

It deployed with VMF(N)-531 (Night Fighters) to Korea at the beginning of the conflict. Where apparently it was quite effective.
By mid 52 the aircraft was being replaced by the F3D Skynight.

Nice to see Calwings going in a different direction. I`d especially like to see an OV-1 Mohawk. Loved these ever since i saw one the on`Blue Thunder` as a teenager!
