New member seeking diecast help please

Hi

I've built up a fair collection of 1/72 die cast aircraft, mainly but not exclusively Hobby Master. I prefer to display them with undercarriage down and all underwing stores loaded. Most models re pretty good, but I have a number where the fit of the parts is too loose and bits keep dropping off, for example undercarriage legs or fuel tanks.

I'm assuming lots of other people have experienced this issue, so my question is this, can anyone advise how best to remedy the problem, for example is there a type of adhesive which will bond plastic to metal without destroying the plastic?

Any help would be appreciated!

welcome to the forum kevin. think you will find most like me use a very small piece of blue or white tack. have same problem with a few models as well. this holds them pretty well. but the tack does dry out sometimes over time. but I just re-do it. better than gluing them in!!

Thanks very much indeed for this, I'll give it a try, and I take your point about glueing!

Clear urethane glue.

I've had good luck using white glue on metal. Especially antennas and gear.

It is more forgiving if you accidentally use too much.

Elmer's school glue is a favorite as well. No build up, easy to remove.

Thanks very much indeed to everyone that replied. I knew I couldn't be the only one to experience this issue! There'a range of options for me to look at, but I think I'll start with blu tac as this seems the least 'invasive'.

My HM F-100 is looking rather sorry for itself as it's lost a main undercarriage leg, so I'll start with that one (Or maybe turn it into a crash landing dio??)

If that doesn't work for me then I can always move on to one of the adhesives.

Thanks again!
