So, recently I bought from Japan a reasonably (8.5/10) well-made 1/72 tomcat plastic model:
This is a slighly obscure sundowners (VF-111) livery with the "sun" in the corner of the tail as opposed to in the middle.
This joins my large collection of diecast Tomcats.
However, let's look at the latest few major diecast releases and announcements of VF-111 birds:
Calibre Wings (limited china release):
Hobby master miss molly (AGAIN!)
Hobbymaster miss molly
plus, jc wings did the same livery in 1/144 and the last witty was also 200 in the same livery. as was the dragon vf-111.
so that's like 7 or 8 releases or so, all of which were of basically exactly the same one or two aircraft.
to get any different sundowners, you basically have to go back to the old witty low res release. and i hate witty tomcats, so im not touching that.
i dont know whether hm is re-releasing miss molly just to "mess" with calibre wings. that seems to be their thing. but in this case im not sure that's the case since the additional barely different miss molly was i think announced before the calibre limited edition.
but ffs - there are so many different vf-111 birds to do.
here's to hoping that we at some point get a different diecast VF-111 bird
