HM June Poster-jn7wa5i.jpg

MiG-29 SMT looks interesting. Still wish they would do the Digital Ukrainian or some obscure one instead of the same ole Russian/Soviet stuff.

MiG-29 SMT.
Love this ugly beast, but depends how HM will exactly make the humpback.
Poster doesn´t say its a new tooling, so if HM possibly plans to make something like F-16´s conformal tanks, it may end up in a disappointment. Because honestly, conformal tanks on HM F-16´s don´t look very good. Not only due to poor fit and awful gaps, but also because of that everlasting and hard to solve problem with different coloring of metal and plastic parts. I´ll wait for the first photos to see how HM will manage this, but neverthelees I still have one big reservation as per point 4 below.

Few notes:
1. Front dorsal antenna (behind the canopy) should be black and larger in size.
2. Many SMT photos show nose grey color is correct on HM artwork, anyway other photos show nose grey color should be darker. Same for grey triangle panels on LERXes. Not sure which color is correct though.
3. Tip of the refuelling probe should be painted silver
4. Nose division line between radome and LERX should be sloped down !!!!! In the direction of LERXes!!!! NOT HORIZONTAL!!!!!
HM is repeating the same bloody mistake which once forever killed the look of their Flankers. OMG!
Hobby Master must have some kind of perverse delight in ruining the look of Russian aircraft models. Can´t believe.
And not only they made this mistake, but they also don´t care to eleminate it at least by painting the triangle under the front division line to make division line look correctly sloped. Probably they are not aware of it at all.
Sorry all, can´t help myself, this really drives me crazy. Pure despair. Such a stupid stupid thing ...

SU-27SM - maybe buy, maybe not - depends.
HM artwork looks good, attractive colors, more stencils than HA6006 "93", but personally have bit of a problem with the look of this particular aircraft from the right side: the "new style" white nose and white fin tips are paired with "old" green starboard fin leading edge, and this combination looks weird to my eyes. Anyway will wait for final production photos to decide.

Green fin on this particular Su-27SM RF-95261:

Su-27SM with white starboard fin for comparison:

Nothing for me other than the long-preordered F-105G. I'd get the omars, but I already have the first one.

With the space shuttles dumping as badly as they have at retailers, I am surprised HM has released more. But, these at least are the more famous ones.

Never even thought of that. I hope like heck they don't just put it on the existing mould and try to pass it off. We will see. Btw, here is the 'splinter camo' for this particular release. top and side views. Great looking bird imo.

I got a couple myself. Great rugged thing for light CAS. Doesn't have much ability to carry a lot of heavier weapons like the A-10 though

The SMT is the only thing that interests me on that poster. Although it doesn't say "new tooling", when the MiG-29 was first announced I specifically asked William if they were doing early and late versions and he said yes. Fingers crossed this means the SMT was tooled already.

As for the nose joint, like many HM jets it's really badly positioned. HM consistently repeats painting errors. I've emailed William to see if we can at least get it painted with the correct slight slope, so fingers crossed. That said if it's correct on final release that means it will still have to be checked on all future releases because HM never seems to remember painting corrections.

WoW! CC .... Great work .... Nice detail.

Yes, I would not give up your Code3 if I had it either.

Perhaps you should apply for a position at HM A work from home position considering the current worldwide state of affairs.

Thanks for sharing.

Stay safe stay healthy....

HM is taking out the big guns for a show of force for June! A-1, A-10, F-14, F-15, F-18, F-22, SU-27, MiG-29! Fantastic lineup! My choices would be the A-1, F-14, and the SU-27.
