Pre-pro photos are up on HMC site:
Really happy HM listened and added black/white ´crash dummy symbols´/ "Secchi disk
" tampos here and there - model looks more attractive now imho.
However there are still some problems to solve:
1. Front Formation lights are much too high:
Front Formation lights under the canopy are visibly higher on HM model compared to real XF-2B. On the real XF-2B front Formation light is right in the middle of JASDF Roundel, "bisects" the roundel. (white formation light and red roundel remind me old cops´HALT hand held sign).
Also, too high is placed the black/white "Secchi disk" tampo just underneath the front formation light.
2. Front Formation light is too thin:
From some reason HM makes front formation light funny looking - is much narrower / thinner than the rear formation light. Why? Front and rear formation lights should have same thickness / height.
3. Rear Formation light "falls down":
Maybe a detail, but very easy to correct. And beauty is in the details.
Rear formation light "falls down". On real XF-2B the rear formation lights are strictly horizontal - on all JASDF F-2As / F-2Bs / XF-2Bs. I suppose this how formation lights should work - they should be
4. Formation lights (Front and Rear) are yellow instead of white
Front and Rear formation lights on all JASDF F-2A / F-2B / XF-2Bs appear to be white. Haven´t found any JASDF F-2A / F-2B photo with formation lights in yellow in a daylight. HM formation lights are yellow.
All these formation lights inaccuracies concern all HM F-2A / F-2B models released so far - all these models have the same issues, deserving correction for the future.
4. Blue upperside color appears to me to be rather too vivid
Depends on light conditions of course, and monitor / display setting, but the upperside blue on HM pre-pro appears like being bit "brighter", more "vivid" than real JASDF XF-2Bs, yes - little bit toyish.
Not a deal breaker, but would be nice if HM could find blue color containing little bit less turquoise in it. Real JASDF XF-2B blue appears being bit more "steely" (HM´s artwork fuselage blue looks correct to me).
