Default Help needed with Armour/Franklin Mint 1:48 B25

Hey Guys,

First post and its a doozy. I inherited a Armour B-25 1:48 from a dear friend. It means a lot to me. Unfortunately the front gun is broken off flush with the clear nose. Id like to replace it. I realize I won't be able to get the correct pice but i do have some 1:48 50 cals and could use one in its place.

Now the question...how do I get the nose off. It looks like it's glued...but im not sure and I really dont want to break anything as this means a lot to me.

If you have a local Hobby Shop (there aren't many left). Bring it in and ask them about it. Those old guys that usually run those shops are really knowledgeable. Good Luck!

Just a personal opinion here, but.....

Speaking as the owner of FIVE Franklin Mint B.25's.....

I'd be inclined to just 'leave well alone' - it's for the best.

Trying to "mend" or replace the nose M/G = COULD result in butchering the plane !

Not even worth the hassle, in my book.

Many B.25's flew without the nose-gun, so it's not worth the risk of trashing it.

That's not to say it's not "do-able".

Just not worth the risk/breakage, if you ask me....

Let's just say this - "If" it DOES go pear-shaped, then you'll be left with a heavy paperweight !

(plus a potentially cracked-nose - just not worth the hassle)
