Default Corgi Douglas C-47 Skytrain USAAF D-Day AA38210

Picked this up from DiecastAirplane.com

Corgi Aviation Archive
Douglas C-47 Skytrain
USAAF, #47-92847
"That's All Brother"
D-Day, France June 6th 1944
Lead D-Day Aircraft

I know this is an older release, at first I sat on the sidelines when it was first released but after attending the Douglas Museum and Library (now called Museum of Flying down in Santa Monica - it talked a lot about the C-47 history. Especially with this release it has the iconic D-day stripes and it turns out to be the lead aircraft during the invasion. "That's All Brother" would lead a force of over 800 Skytrains over the skies of Normandy, that was enough of a reason for me to get it. Here's some pictures:

You have a great looking model! It’s great the actual airplane has been restored and is in an airworthy condition, flying with the Commemorative Air Force. I would have gotten this model if I did not already have Buzz Buggy (an even older release of a C-47 in D-day colors.

Actually this was released last year and is, I believe, the newest available release of this tooling.
