Default Calibre Wings, Wave2 SU-24 - Production photos

RUSSIAN VERSION

UKRAINIAN - CLEAN VERSION

+ this 2nd Wave has a new firmer metal Pitot:

+ there are Soviet Pilots (standing) / SU-24 Ladders available separately

Wash on the Russian version looks very realistic to me.

Note the wing fences - they appear to be removable on the Russian version (?)

All in all, with all the improvements - I like it. But one thing I see as a potential problem - grey color on the canopy visibly differs from the grey around on upper surfaces, the canopy looks like being recycled / reutilized from the 1st Wave Russian version. Calibre says these are Production photos, hope this still can be adressed ...?

Looks to be airworthy

As for the metal/plastic pitot...certainly an improvement over previous bendy version in terms of Calibre pitots in general.

I remember many threads posts back, on that topic alone. Perhaps they read the posts

No doubt! Looks almost like a plastic kit on it's way to an IPMS show imo! Would love to see them do the Ukrainian bird the same exact way too.

I really was only intending to have the one Russian scheme. So keen on some Soviet SU24s,..preferably Camo types.

But this latest release, with that cool scheme really is the goods.

I might have to reconsider?

the only news would be that calibre recently listed a t-shirt on facebook that they're selling or whatever and it has the su-22 listed, so it's probably still on. should be a great release if yes.

Valid point, Ladia

About canopy color match on Russian version Noel replied, that Calibre Wings will adjust canopy color for a best match to the body, but it will not be exactly the same. There are limitations given by painting different materials (clear plastic and zinc) and also due to the fact, that wash cannot be applied on the canopy itself because it would decrease canopy clarity.

Ok, reasons & procedure explained. Lets hope Calibre Wings will be able to find best color to improve canopy match - current canopy color difference can be even more notable in different light conditions.

Reply about the wing fences:
Wing fences are removable to interchange between the old and new versions.

Overall positive informations, I would say.

This comparison between the waves look odd in some way .... something in the shape from nose to fuselage perhaps?

Any opinion?

Still problems with resizing on your device, BB?

Or sworn enemy of larger pictures?

Either way its a pitty, with larger picture I could have compare both profiles in Photoshop.

Anyway, just from the feeling, is this the difference you are referring to?

I think the entire picture captures the entire difference

And I'm a sworn enemy of wall mural size pictures indeed

I´m afraid you (... again) missed the point.

There are two different versions, that´s clear as day, same as the fact that in this 2nd wave the Russian / Ukrainian M/MR versions are reversed. No need to mention this obvious fact - seriously.

If you remember, BB himself has already discussed these exact M/MR nose differences not too long ago: https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com...ml#post2666526
I do remember his thread well.

And my (yet unmentioned) point was if the down part of the nose doesn´t bulge too much from the outline.

Anyway many thanks for your kind way of posting, still would be nice if for the next time you could spare your :: facepalm :: for someone else. Thank you.

FS....be so kind as to check your Block List. If I recall... (I could search back)..you put me on your Block List. Make sure it's working. You should not be reading or replying to posts I generated or commented on. Of course the hand palm (a gesture of degrade and offense) was not needed for a post Ladia clearly understood. So yeah, make sure your Block (Ignore) List ....checked box next to my name. I'm sure if members old and new want see your history of demeaning and disparaging posts to members here in this forum, all they have to do is go to your posts history, under the statistic tab, then, Find all posts. https://www.diecastaircraftforum.com/members/20156.html. I'm sure they can weed out a sizable list.

Ah, yes....I have found in my own history where we had some great exchanges, then it turned toxic on both sides. Where my toxicity has subsided over the years, yours on a person to person(s) basis ... still continues. I suggest you reflect on your past history and look for where you can personally improve.

To reiterate FS, make sure I remain on your Block List

BB,

If you make a boneheaded post - you need to man up and pay the price with some good natured ribbing.

Otherwise do a bit more research in the future.

I have the pleasure and luck to have that same Wave 2 weathered Russian 24 in my hangar and yes, even better in hand! Masterful weathering technique on par with expert scale modellers.

The clean one is pretty nice too, something different and never seen before from Calwings

Get some!
