Default Hobbymaster HA8220 Corsair "Midnite Cocktail"

A new addition to the Feb, 2020 release list.

Quite an interesting choice. I was expecting HM to pump out "greatest hit after greatest hit" of the Corsairs, so this was a nice change to an attractive, unusual livery.

Would be great if they released some korean war mustangs and corsairs, though.

Ugh! When is HobbyMaster going to start making F4U-4,-5, and -7 variants?

I'm assuming this Corsair will have the wing folding option. Is it easy to assemble/work with? Is it better to display wings folded or extended?

I agree, as much as I like these earlier Corsairs, it would be great to see some Korean War era schemes.

A very rare Corsair indeed. Not many of the F4U-2 were even produced,......just over 30. Its a bit of a 'odd man out' type of release that requires some mods.

If they do half a decent job of it with the mods,...I may very well be tempted.

So I havent touched a HM corsair in a while (in storage at another address), but basically HM's folding wings are "ok." This applies to all of their models with folding wings: 1/48 Panther, 1/48 Corsair, and 1/32 Hellcat. If you can swing the space, it's better to display most of these with the wings extended.
