Hobbymaster September Poster-ip5fdah.jpg

Some good ones in that lot. Australian collectors have done very well and the tail art with that Growler is a cracker.

The Duxford Spit is rather unique,....in many ways. In fact,...it has to be one of the most important warbirds flying today.

MH434 History - MH434 - Supermarine Spitfire IX - The Old Flying Machine Company

The USAF F111A is the first S.E. Asian F111 since the first release from the tooling. Its a bit like CW A7,....one wonders why HM have not released one sooner?? It also should be rather popular.

Not a bad CAT I would have thought. Something for everyone,....unless you are a 1:72 ETO collector.

But thats HM these days.

Both Spits and the ARDU F111 for me.

William confirmed the release will have the orientation markings and ARDU signage on the tail.

Should be a cracking release.

The Growler is also in serious consideration, its an operational bird out of Aviano, during the Libyan operations. The tail looks very speccy indeed.

hello all i've been away for some time. hope your summer / antipodean winter is going well.

not much in it for me with this poster. i highly recommend the US F-111 to those who didn't get the similar release the first time around and the aussie one sure is a treat for some.

i would get the white tailed spit and still might, but i have doubts about hm's ability to pull off the livery convincingly. large caroonish tampo pieces have always been a HM weakness - for some reason against my own better judgement i got the zumbach spit with the large cartoon duck and it suffers from the too shiny and unrealistic effect.

an outside chance i'll go for the qf-4 and the sbd. but hm's f-4 mould is clearly very seriously worn out at this point. look at the pre-pro pics for ha 19010 it looks awful in detail with colour mismatches, worn out castings, gaps that you could fly a 747 through. pity that.

The Antipodean winter is lovely thank you. Already getting frosts down my way and the mornings are glorious.

A little surprised its taken this long for another Takhli F111 to get the treatment. Its a bit like the CW Korat A7D,...it very curious when you think how popular the Vietnam War theme is.

gotta say, for all my slagging off of the HM F-4 2 posts above, i just cracked open the latest HM diamondbacks phantom HA19006 and it's actually really really nice. tight fit, good detail relative to other models, and quite attractive. maybe the poor fit of the pre pro are just really indeed pre pro test artefacts.

I also thought that the Diamondback F4 were well fitted and made. Any chance they may have indeed refreshed their tooling? Bombs and Sidewinders fitted in much better than previous few dozens!
