True. But if it`s the choice of having something like, or not having it, then surely it`s better to have, than have not. There`s plenty of 1/72 models out there that aren`t particularly good, (Altaya Mig-31 for example) but if that one model you want to complete your collection is the only one available, then you`re gonna buy it. And why not. Are you going to wait several years in the forlorn hope you get a perfect representation?

I think not.

Enjoy what you`ve got. Life`s too short.

Well, I got mine today.

I have only one regret; posting the pictures last week. I got them from the Aviation Megastore, but they are not the actual model, its a preproduction or somthing. I was under the impression it was the actual model, as the shop had recive it.

The real model is much nicer and does not feature those trenches, as seen for instance on the engine nacelles. It also has a pitot tube...

It comes with a choice of landing gear up or down, nice on such a sleek airframe.

I have to say this doesn't look half bad. Better than I thought it would turn out.

Cockpit windows look good. A very wicked bomber back in the day. IIRC the last of AF bombers with external engines?

Have seen the "92430" model today and must say it really doesn´t look bad in the flesh with those improved engines and chrome-like NMF finish.

Of course, red strip on USAF roundel is too thin and wrongly tampoed - probably in the entire production - but the main problem is the scale.
In 1/200 Hustler is very small model, almost like a keyring, with length less than 14 cm without pitot, which just doesn't work for this iconic airplane, making it rather less impressive than it would deserve.

I agree 1/200 is small for this plane, but doubt we will ever see it released in 1/72.

PS...my order has been placed for this.

Put pics in another thread but here it is and looks fine to me. Only issue 2 engines loose in transit and needed refixing
Have to admit didn't notice the red on the roundels Pics show a third split between white red white.

Good move going for solid windows on this, not clear like on their B-2.

Absolutely awesome! Great photo`s. Would like to see one in a bigger scale; 1/144 & 1/72.

Here we go! Love, Love, Love it! I'm not a big military collector and have one shelf with military aircraft displayed and a few ready for rotation to be displayed. I can see where a military collector would want a larger scale version with more detail. I couldn't judge size from pictures on-line so took one pic with quarter in it so you all can see the size.

I love this air frame and wouldn't mind one in 1/72, but this one is nice for now. The gear are a little pesky to get in place. The nose gear were a pain to fully get set in the socket and the main gear, though there is no right or left main gear, I switched their location as the left to right angle was not flat on the first try. The engines and auxiliary fuel cell/pod are plastic. The stand is the usual clear plastic one with label and gear door come with the model for inflight display. Would I pay $104.95 like some retailers are charging, NO! To me however, it is worth the $71.99 I paid! Also, notice the back of the box indicates "1/500" that is a misprint.

Enjoy!

The B-58 wasn’t a big machine. I can see why Herpa went for 1/200 to fit in with the rest of their range, but IMHO it’s too small for this. Also, I’d have to display it in flight. That undercarriage looks really blocky.

Now can we have a B-47?

Well, it turned out better than I thought it might, but I'm glad I ordered the other one. Thanks for the size comparison, it's smaller than I thought it would be!
And yeah, ditto on the B-47!

I agree with everyone's assessment of the model. Received mine yesterday and the feature that impresses me most is the finish. It's not too shiny which would've made it seem toy-like. Frankly, that was one of my concerns when I saw the pre-pros. Instead it has a nice non-uniform NMF that looks great. Also the panel lines appeared much deeper in the pre-pros but aren't really an issue here. Switching the engine pods to plastic from metal actually improved the look, too, IMO. Very happy with the result.

+1 I think I am only missing a B47 1/200 in the armory

Skyclassics (ARD) is ok but a bit expensive
