Johan Chan 'JCW's' has been known to buy up moulds from manu's that have gone the way of the dodo. I wonder where the Falcon Model toolings are sitting around collecting dust and if it would be something worth pursuing for JCW's to add to their 1/72 military model line?

If i understood everything, models tooling have been blocked in the factory, following the bankrut of this factory... A commercial disput maybe... No more precision...

this isn't the end of the world. nearly all falcon models toolings other than the f86d (that of the fixed.. .rocket pack) had serious issues, mostly intake related. plus, except for perhaps the mirage III, i cant think of a falcon mould that mostly hadnt been run out in terms of liveries.

i think jc wings has some serious skill. they should stop dicking around with bad bankrupt moulds and come to agreements with grade a manufacturers like cw and hm (and maybe calw, eventually) and come to some agreements for 'premium line' releases.

imagine:
jc wings repaints of hm su27
jc wings repaints of cw f14 instead of ****ty witty mould.
jc wings repaints of cw f8. i have some code3 cw f8s that jc wings could easily copy and make a mint.
jc wings a1 quality repaints of some 1/48 hm birds in low quantities. they could charge 200 each and make money if the repaints are good.

Despite the lack of panel line the Premium F1 is a better mould than Falcon, the wings of the falcon are very fat and the shape are less good than the premium wich capture better the line of this beautiful plane.

I don't have either of these mfr models to compare( Falcon Mirage inbound) so can only go with photos seen and yes the Premium look better but no panel lines seem to show and perhaps falcon is the same? Both mfrs are very dear price wise when you can find them with premium higher by a good percent asking price usually. Note several on ebay right now or last night but nothing to tempt me from waiting for HM next and how in h--l did I get on this Mirage thing anyhow! Oh yeah the Falklands bit which reminds me I still need an affordable HM Argie Navy A-4! FYI I quit collecting in December and have somehow bought 7 more Diecast since that attempt!!!!

There is only the main panel but at this size it's sometime better than too much panel, the engine exhaust is great also and it has the feeling of the F1.

Endless schemes! I don't understand why Dassault Premium did the one Mirage F1 and stopped? I wish HM or JCW's could get their hands on it. I'm stocking up on plastic kits and decal sets at the moment in hopes to find a modeller at the next couple IPMS shows to do these for me. Received my Italeri Mirage 2000 kit in the mail today. Hopefully there's a future Peruvian Mirage 2000 in there!!!

You are welcome guys. Does it make you want to add a bit of plastic to the old collection? One more. 1/72 Qatari Mirage F1.

Consider that these are NIB MODELS NO LONGER PRODUCED some years later and asking a 45% is not out of line I would think although I would prefer lower too if I were buying IAF Mirages! I bought from this guy , still waiting on arrival of Argentina Mirage. Had a Harrier from VHK arrive days ago bought at same time! He must ship by cart but charged a rate that in the US will get 3-4 days air. Just as an aside bought a HM from a Russian collector 3 weeks and no problems with the box etc.

I have purchased before from Canadian sellers and it seems like packages sit around in customs for awhile before moving around. I bought a 1/12 MotoGP bike on Ebay from a seller in Japan last week. 5 days later my wife was being handed the parcel at the front door! That's fast.

Yeah I debated on buying the same Mirage you are currently awaiting. Enjoy it. I'll try to find one in plastic form at one of several shows I'll be attending this year hopefully!

Picked up this interesting little item on Ebay last night Visual Recognition Card issued to I am guessing anti aircraft gun operators during the Vietnam war. Careful what you shoot down boys!

The HMC website has missed quite a few HM releases over the years. It's a spectacular resource and we're all very grateful for it and the hard work put in by the creator/maintainer, but it's also "unofficial" and quite amateur in places. But, as I said, a great resource. If you think something important is missing, it may be worth to reach out and let him know.

an example of a missing aircraft is HA1712 p-39 'quanto costa' - mising for no real reason. there are several others like this. there have and may still be a few HM releases that never made it to the site at all and were just skipped.

Unfortunately the Collector Site is completely dependent on HM providing the info.

Quanto Costa is actually there,....just no pictures.

As for the Mirage, its a Apr release,...whether its actually in the shops of in a release poster is yet to be determined. I originally thought it would be out and about Apr/May,...but maybe its referring the the release poster, in which case that's why the Collector Site does not have it yet.

Has the Mar release poster been announced yet??

Actually for a very short period (days / hours) the Mirage appeared on HMC site, but quickly vanished.
I believe there was a reason and has no meaning to wait or ask whether / when it will appear on HMC site or in the Monthly poster in this case. My guess: never.
Honestly, I think just to stay tuned and wait until model hits the market is the best and only we can do. Hopefully it won´t take too long.

Just hoping it does not get cancelled last minute due to a snag with the licensing etc.

We will see I guess.

That’s what I mean ... I don’t know why was suddenly removed, I hope they don’t cancel the model

Highly unlikely since it's already been manufactured.

Hopefully this model actually hits shelves and there are no issues as there's been little to get excited about recently.

As for the F1, that's another model I wish HM would have a crack at, the bird of prey look the gears give off is very collectable.

Lot's of great schemes to do on the F1 too.

Have to admit, this model does look better then in the HM photos.

Not usually a subject I'd buy even though I like the Mirage, will probably sell it at some point when I run out of room but for now I'm happy to stare at it everyday along with the Iraqi MiG-23 I just got, both turned out to be surprisingly satisfying models.

i had mine early this week, and except the line on the nose and an impression of a layer of light pink color all over the plane, i'm happy with it.

A better ordinance would have been nice, with MICA missiles for example

I would love see it with an Exocet missile
