Does anyone known of any retailer has in stock CL-CA722401 - Calibre Wings SU-24 Fencer, Russian Version or if anyone has one and prepared to sell as I am finding this hard to find with a view to purchasing one.

don't think stocks have reached the distributors yet. you may pm monsieur fortunateson to see which distributor it was that already had stock though.

Well don't try The Flying Mule, they just took down their listing for the Russian Fencer, must not be much demand for it. According to Calibre, TFM have not even put an order in so doubt their reached their PO limit.

TFM have relisted the release date for the Fencers so many times, I wouldn't be surprised there like **** it, if Noel can't get his **** in order, we won't even put in an order.

I reckon after having so many issues with delays, low POs, issues with quality with most of the F-14's, retailers are on the fence about ordering Fencers

So ? That's quiet high. Remember the Canadian Blue Nose Sabre was limited to 500 and that sat around for years

well, i haven't seen any model attract as much demand here in dac as the fencers seem to do with even seasoned collectors finding it difficult to land their hands on one

I'm pretty sure they mean sold out to retailers, there are hardly any retailers stocking this model, it can't be sold out at retail level if most aren't even listed or ORDERED. Seems like more hype again

At least they are admitting there IS a problem with their models.

Now the question is, do we as collectors bother trying to hunt down a model that has defects, both now admitted by the manu and seen in many reviews or just wait for the next wave and hope they have fixed them and make more next time. TBH I'm not that interested in their first wave models now as it's taken 3 years, still has issues, still not on shelves and priced as ridiculously as Herpa.

i believe tfm never ordered. granted i haven't seen any distributor list this as being in stock, it wouldn't bode well for calibre wings if NO retailer ordered from them. fully sold out from direct orders? that's an impressive achievement considering zero support from distributors' network. or there may in fact be less than the 800 units out there...

Or maybe the models were recalled because of a serious issue ?

I remember seeing a picture of the Russian models in a plastic tub ready for packaging and was like WTF is it with the 3 different shades of nose cone.

Plus is was a pretty boring scheme and it's history (if any) was of little importance, maybe they couldn't even reach 800 orders, a collector card doesn't prove ****. TFM hadn't even ordered the model and now they pulled the plug on the listing.

what "serious issue"? and i am curious as to what mods noel now deems necessary for the second wave since he never conceded to there being any flaws in the first wave in the first place, did he? thinking that perhaps they did enough russian blanks for a good double or triple 800 runs, and the mods are probably cosmetic at best. your thoughts?

Thanks for all the posts and replies, I've given up now on this particular item and will now wait and hope to get the revised version released in the second wave of releases.

yeah, doubt there's any reason to panic. hopefully calibre gets their models straighten out (pun intended) by their second wave

I've wanted one of those Fencers since the first time I laid eyes on one,but then I'll just have to wait to see if Calibre do another one or maybe another manufacturer gets to produce one too.

calibre wings has teased the digital camo ukrainian fencer... and they did say that there'll be another russian coming in wave to. so dig in and wait it out. they should be out... by 2035

The only problem with that is, I might have a hard decision what to buy first, my Fencer or my Zimmerframe.

Has anyone outside of Asia gotten one of these yet ? It's strange not to see any of these on eBay and yet the Ukr version is sitting on eBay for weeks now, strange how demand was very lop sided.

The same couldn't be said for JCW Ukr Blue 58 which sold out and yet no one is buying the latest Russian release.

I ordered two Russian SU-24, one for me and one for a friend of mine. Still waiting for them.

But my friend will maybe live for a 3-year expatriate life, so the second model could become available within two months. Wait and see... If you're interested, keep in touch!

@UK: 2 Russian models are today available on ebay.

Crikey, your right. Those prices though

Noticed one of them slipped in a photo of the extra weapons, abit of false advertising there. Those are only available in weapons pack 1 which sells for about 40usd. Making these models more expensive then rare 2nd hand Century Wings F-14's

"Crikey"?... Oh Dear!

I'm not sure regarding the extra weapons, I will tell you as soon as I get mine.

I hope you won't get too disappointed but it is confirmed that the first wave only came with cannon pods, short range missiles and external tanks. If you want more weapons, you'll need to fork out another 40usd (at least, depending which country you're in) for the below weapons pack in order to get a beefier load out

the zimmerframe, definitely the zimmerframe. no misprints, overspray, scuff marks, or joint gaps. well ok, mebbe joint gaps... but well within acceptable levels. and it wouldn't make much difference with failing eyesight anyway. plus it's actually useful!

Do all the calibre wings su-24 come with same weapons in the retail box? or does each ver has different weapons? any chance anyone can post the pictures of the included weapons?

also, how's the optional weapon set? would getting 2 sets of weapons give more options for different configurations of weapons?

I was thinking of getting an su-24. i guess calibre wings is my only option right now? is it worth it? thanks.

i have it on order with the expected release for july but my drug dealer () sent me an email changing the release date to undetermined.. and that's not a good sign, i think the preorders weren't really good; it is probably a model with few people interested at least in the west.

Here's my su-24 with the optional weapon pack.

There's a major issue: the midline rear fuselage hardpoint is useless in a lot of situation. anything mounted in that place prevent the use of the other 3 fuselage points....So you're pretty much limited to using 7 pylons total or 5 if you use the rear center mount. i don't know if this is the way things really work in the real su-24? if anyone knows more about the real su-24, maybe they can comment?

as can be seen by the mount peg layout, the only thing mountable on the swing wings are the rocket pods or the small external fuel tank. Those two things are also seems not designed to be mountable anywhere else because they only have 1 peg and all the other hardpoints have two pegs...

Max number of weapons possible: 24 small bombs, 1 LGB, 2 rocket pods.

Last thing, the peg system of pylon mounting is the WORST INVENTION. corgi had it on their eurofighter and it didn't quite work. Same thing on the calibre wing. At least the distance between the holes are correct on the calibre wings but the pegs don't quite fit into the holes. The slot method used by witty wing and HM are better but obviously more time consuming for the manufacturers than to just drill small holes...
