Default 2019: HM F-15 Releases

According to HM F-15s website, the latest additions will be:

HA4560: F-15C Eagle 84-0027, USAF 493FS, RAF Lakenheath, 2014

HA4514: F-15J "Mount Fuji" 42-8838 "JASDF 50th Anniversary Scheme", 2004

Looking at the two artworks, it seems that HM is only doing the drop intake ramp on Japanese planes. The last drop intake ramp model is on an F-15DJ (HA4513).

JASDF sure have very colourful anniversary schemes. Here's the actual "Most Fuji" plane.

Since I don't have a single seater F-15 and this also a drop intake ramp model, I will give this model serious consideration.

Certainly one to add to my wanted list. The graphic shows Mount Tsukuba in the foreground and Mount Fuji in the background. In reality they are about 160km apart, with Mount Tsukuba being being North of Tokyo and Mount Fuji to the South.

From Wikipedia: As legend has it, thousands of years ago, a deity descended from the heavens and asked two mountains for a place to spend the night. With its great summit and almost perfect cone, Mt. Fuji refused, believing with pride and arrogance that it does not need the deity's blessings. Mt. Tsukuba, on the other hand, humbly welcomed the honored guest, even offering food and water. Today, Mt. Fuji is a cold, lonely, and barren mountain, while Mt. Tsukuba bursts with vegetation and is filled with colors as the seasons change.

I have seen Mount Fuji from nearby Hakone and it is a beautiful sight. Sorry to say that I can't remember seeing the twin peaks of Mount Tsukuba when traveling North on the Tobu Nikko line. If you are a train lover like me, Japan is close to heaven.

I'm hoping you're wrong about lowered ramp releases, but . . .
Nice scheme.

(plug for somebody who is not me for any F-15 fans out there in the UK or elsewhere there's an excellent SJ-coded 1/48 pro built model on ebay uk by one of the nicest guys around. If you ever wanted a 1/48 F-15, models of this quality don't come around that often so have a look.

Thanks for joggin the ol noggin
Perhaps I've reached the Prevagen or Ginkgo Biloba age

I may consider the Mount Fuji release .... not so much for the plane itself....but for the artwork instead....seeing how my living room has some Oriental/Asian elements....if I get it ... I would put it in a vertical position, in a framed shadow box and mount it on the wall like a painting.

on the floor, against the wall or up the ceiling... whatever catches your fancy. so long as it's not in your basement, up your attic or under your bed

anyway, here's a picture of the two lovebirds...

Not big into special schemes,....except JASDF jets, this being no exception. Its beautiful,...and you cannot say that about many models, but this is certainly one.

Sold!!

A little help...if possible....I'm not seeing, and perhaps it's there, the Mount Fuji specific scheme HA4514 for pre-order from at least Flying Mule, Pete's Collectibles or EZ Toys (strangely EZ Toys shows a different scheme for HA4514) ...here in the states.

Does anyone know of USA seller that started to show it? If so ... A link would be appreciated.

Thanx in advance..

Don't worry cheesecake if you have problem getting this model, you can always get it from my local retailer which should be cheaper than the Brits.

IF you are looking JASDF 60th Anniversary F-15J Eagle 32-8943 (JCW-72-F15-006), it is retailing for USD65 locally.

There are two die cast retailers in Kuala Lumpur. One Sells HM and Corgi and the other JCW, AF1, Calibre Wings and airliners.

Generally, the price here is lower than the US and on par with HK price because of our lower standard of living.

When you live in Tokyo or Hong Kong probably 1/200 scale models are the ones you will buy, given the living space they have.

In my last visit to Tokyo, in April 2017, I saw many 1/200 military models sold in Top Gun Store.

Here's a Photoshop idea of what I mention above.....Iconic elements of Asian culture...looks pretty nice.

If I can make it real...even using just the Mount Fiji alone.....it would look good in person....of course the background graphic can be changed to tastes.

I have Mount Fuji on pre-order

Ah....and as for the White Dragon plane itself...William says it's possibly doable late next year

Since I don't have a single seater F-15 and this also a drop intake ramp model, I will give this model serious consideration.
I don't have an HM f-15 yet in the Mod Eagle scheme, so this is definite buy for me. I just hope they use the same color as their Demo bird. The saudi one, is a little off putting, if they ever go that route. Dunno if that was intentional though. I'm also liking the new intakes. Since I display mostly in flight, it's a win from me. I don't to modify it like I did with my other HM F-15

Hi tim_1/72, with final product pictures of HA4560 now available, what‘s your opinion on its colours? They look slightly different from the Demo Eagle model (HA4570), don‘t they? Somewhat lighter with a little bit more blue in the „spots“, or do you think it‘s only due to light effects? 🤔
So far, I haven’t read any reviews of the colours...

Other than one member, the reviews over at MHIII have been very positive with most lads in Blighty who spend hours at Lakenheath saying HM probably could do no better, considering the different hues under various environmental and lighting conditions.

I think we are all waiting for that. Mind you,...I am after the actual test bird. Dragon's ASAT release maybe a cracker of a release but I have found no evidence that a 318FIS ever carried the ASAT.

I have Mount Fuji on pre-order

Ah....and as for the White Dragon plane itself...William says it's possibly doable late next year

In today's mail.....

Since I am the crappiest of photographers... Here are some great pictures by someone else..... just scroll down....... https://world.taobao.com/item/585388062403.htm

And yes, William has updated to say, the White Dragon is still doable

I made mention that a 1/100 is now being produced by Runsun? (From what I can tell ...they are an mfg with other line, surprisingly the 1/72's are a mix of hobby master and atalya style stands...hmmmm)...I sent William pic below.

Crossing fingers for 1/72

Here's what's gaud-y-awful.....the diminutive pilots in comparison to the size of the main landing gear wheel....how disproportionate.

Below is an avg human bout I'd say 6ft....rolling an F-15 wheel....

Now look at the pathetic size proportion of the HM pilot figure below, granted in sit down position, but even in upright position would look very thin and small compared to the model wheel. HM is using the body size of Hobbits for pilots

I received yesterday the Mirage 200-5... and happy my pilot is a hobbit.
He fits very well in the cockpit !
Numerous of my pilots are without legs... in order to fit them well.

Otherwise, i couldn't wait for the white dragon and digital one
Based on witty wings F-15J for the white dragon and HM for digital.

WOW CC, those two look Fantabulous! Nice work ...... A digital camo, I suspect is harder to Code3 than standard (traditional) camo pattern. The White Dragon! Ahhh is on the money. If HM doesn't release it within 12 months.... I may have to commission you
