I'm no expert on Soviet/Russian aircraft. I have a personal preference for Ukrainian liveries. I won't be buying many Soviet/Russian aircraft, but will probably get at least one of each that is released, using a careful strategy. So here's my current Soviet/Russian list:
MiG-15: I have several from before. Happy with them. Not getting more. My favourite is the first NKAF release HA2405 "Wang Hai."
MiG-17: Got the first one. It's ok. This vietnam war bird might be sufficient for me.
MiG-21: I have plenty. Can't see needing more of the same old moulds.
MiG-23: Have the first Russian/Soviet grey one. Not a bad model, but would prefer to sell it and upgrade to a more interesting scheme.
MiG-25: These look really poor in the photos. So, I'm in no rush. Will get a Ukrainian one even if it is likely to be similar to the latest "colorado ribbon" soviet one. If it seems no Ukrainian one is forthcoming, might get one of the earlier Soviet releases.
MiG-29: Have an old Corgi Ukrainian Falcons one, but otherwise not bothering with Witty. Waiting for HM to make one.
MiG-31: Never bothered to get an IXO/Altaya.
Su-25: Will skip the first (Russian support of syrian dictatorship) one for now. Hope for UkrAF digital.
Su-27: Will wait for HM to make some nice Ukrainian releases.
Su-30KN: I have gaincorp's. Some toylike aspects, but all in all a nice model.
Su-33: I have gaincorp's sea flanker. A nice release though, again, with some toylike aspects.
Su-34: I have a very very well built plastic model. Not clear that I want a different one.
Su-35: Happy with HM's "Syria" release. A bit of combat history on a standard scheme. Purists may find issues here and there, but for my money it's a very nice model.
Su-47: I have gaincorp's. Big impressive bird.
Su-57: I have a couple of well built models. AF1's release is rubbish. Maybe if HM releases one I might get it, but it's hardly at the top of my wish list. Would much prefer HM to work on a MiG-29 or Chengdu J-10 or maybe at a pinch Su-34 or J-20.
Tu-24: Calibre's pre-pro doesnt look great. However, I bit the bullet and pre-ordered the Ukrainian one. When weapons and other stores are added it might look better. Still, I expceted a bit more and hope that this will be better in the flesh than in the disappointing pre-pros. Of course, waiting for a digital Ukrainian one.
Su-25: Will skip the first (Russian support of syrian dictatorship) one for now. Hope for UkrAF digital.
Su-35: Happy with HM's "Syria" release. A bit of combat history on a standard scheme. Purists may find issues here and there, but for my money it's a very nice model.
Just a question, where do you draw the line? One is wrong, one is not?

i didn't skip the Su-25 for political reasons. I skipped it because I suspect there may be more interesting liveries later. I might still change my mind and get this one, but for me there will be plenty of decent liveries later (ukrainian and russian/soviet) that I think I'm ok to skip this. i made the mistake with the MiG-23 of getting too boring of a livery early on (i'd trade HA5301 for the polish one for example).
Just a question, where do you draw the line? One is wrong, one is not?

Interesting question. And I don't see it as "political" issue. My family home in Northern Crete was bombed by the Wehrmacht in 1941 during the pre-invasion of Unternehmen Merkur. My grandfather was forced to make and repair boots for the Germans. Starvation was rampant. For me it's easy: I draw the line that I am not interested in ANY non-US craft—especially German, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Syrian, Iranian. My exceptions would be British and Israeli—I do have an Israeli Merkava tank and I want a British Spitfire.
But for everybody it's different. And I do not judge others about what's in their toy box.

My strategy is different... I chose to buy few species of planes and collect several of each species.
I haven't any Mig-17 for example... i don't think i will buy one a day !
I have only one Mig-15...
But, for Mig-23, i have all of them for now and i'm waiting more especially from warsaw pact.
About Mig-25, i have the belenko version... i will buy another if liveries please me.
SU-25 : i want all of them !!
Generally, as you, i'm waiting ukrainian version...
MiG-15: 8 Models, Wang Hai, the only Soviet release and the Egyptian are the best, don't really need any others
MiG-17: So far only the first one is ok, doubt I'd buy more while the tail colour is mismatched to the rest of the silver on the model
MiG-21: 16 models, too many, don't want anymore unless someone comes out with a solid one piece fusalage model
MiG-23: Have the first, the rest have been a joke, pass on any that aren't going to be attempted to be accurate.
MiG-25: Got the Guards ribbon release, really happy with it, will add a Ukrainian version, all others will be grey and too similar, not going to buy many of these, passed on the Iraqi version already
MiG-29: 3 models, neither are that outstanding, looking forward to seeing what HM does in that space
MiG-31: Will wait for what HM does, again 1-2 models at best
Su-24: CADwings, no choice, most probably just getting Ukrainian version for now
Su-25: Waiting to see what else HM comes out with, too soon to tell. All others have been expensive toys
Su-27: Waiting for HM to get the colours right, probably not going to bother with JCW as they too get it wrong, don't listen, don't have customer support and use an old recycled mould
Su-30: Waiting for HM
Su-34: Missed out on Gaincorp, Terebo is to dodgy, waiting for HM
Su-35: Happy with the Syrian War version despite its many silly faults, passed on the PLAAF version due to lack of accuracy. Looking forward to the gray version soon
Any aircraft in prototype stage or not in service, I'm not interested in.
Would be nice to get a decent J-10, anything Soviet from WWII but don't think the demand is there to justify it
MiG-17: Got the first one. Have the third on order to go with the MiG-21 from same event. Czech, DDR and Polish only interest.
MiG-21: I have knocked out most of the European, Central European and Soviet examples by purchase or Code3 (save Albania, no one makes a suitable F7). Not sure If I want to continue with the Code3s for other users world wide. Or let HM get to it.
MiG-23: Russian, Czech, DDR, Polish only.
MiG-25: MiG-29: MiG-31: Not interested.
Su-25: Open to it, but would have to be interesting.
Su-27: Su-30KN: Su-33: Su-34: Su-35: Su-47: Su-57: Tu-24: No interest
Mig-15, Mig-17 no interest
Mig -21 : 2 diecast HM ( Poland, Russian)
Mig 23 : built plastic
Mig 25 : built plastic
Mig 29 : 1 diecast from WW. Have 1/48 plastic to build
Mig 31 : built plastic
Su-24 : built plastic
Su-25 : built plastic (Iraqi airforce)
Su-27 : diecast Gaincorp, diecast WW (Ukrainiain)
Su-27B : built plastic
Su-33 : built plastic
Su-34 : Terebo diecast and built plastic
Su- T50 : currently working on kit
MiG-15: Done on single seaters, hoping for a diecast UTI.
MiG-17: I have the Vietnamese J-5, yeah it's probably wrong, but I like it and no more for me.
MiG-19: I'd like one please.
MiG-21: I'm done with generation two unless HM can produce some believable camouflage colours. I'd like a camouflage SMT and a -bis. A little bird tells me the F-13 is coming, I await it patiently.
MiG-23: One was enough thanks.
MiG-25: Two interceptors is enough, I'd like some reccee versions, which will require that HM rethinks their "technical mpossibility".
MiG-29: Yes please.
MiG-31: My Altaya is off to the scrapyard, it won't be replaced.
Su-15: Yes Please.
Su-24: Hoping Calibre delivers.
Su-25: A single Afghanistan service example will do me.
Su-27: One on order, looking for a couple more specific schemes.
Su-34: Got rid of my Gaincorps years ago, still hoping for some decent diecast effort.
Su-35: Happy with my first one, but still looking for several more.
Su-57/T-50: Yes please but only one.
Yak-38: Yes please.
I'd also like a decent Hind and Штурмовйк in 1/72, and a Bear in 1/144.
MiG-15: Got Czechoslovak air force from HM, not planning any other
MiG-17: Waiting for Czechoslovak air force one to come out later this year
MiG-19: I'd like Czechoslovak air force one
MiG-21: Got Czechoslovak air force from HM, not planning any other
MiG-23: Got Czechoslovak air force from HM, not planning any other
MiG-25: Got Belenko's machine, would like to add some camo ones
MiG-29: Got Czechoslovak air force twin seater from Witty. Hoping HM decides to make a decent one
MiG-31: Would buy if HM made one
Su-24: Hoping for an Iranian one from CalW assuming they can deliver
Su-25: Got the Czech air force one from Herpa. Waiting for the RuAF one that saw service in Syria. Hoping for a twin seater as well though
Su-27: Got one from Witty, gonna buy more for sure once HM does some nice schemes
Su-30: Got one from Witty
Su-34: YES PLEASE
Su-35: Got the three tone splinter one from HM as well as the RuAF from Syria. Gonna get more. Love Flankers.
Su-57/T-50: Would love to get a few of those. Some of the paintjobs tested on them look really awesome.
