Default B-2 and B-1B

How come no one, has done a nice die-cast 1/72 scale version of these bombers? Seems like they would sell like hotcakes to collectors, military and some other interested people.

I would love to have a hundred dollar Air Force One quality version of these two famous aircraft.

I could even live with a $45.00 Easy Model Version in plastic.

Any thoughts, and I have been away for a while so I hope I did not miss something already on these.

nice idea, but..

- cheaply painted plastic looks worse as the scale increases. so, an easy model b-2 in particular would look bad. and it'd probably cost a lot more than $45.
- $100 is unrealistic i think for an AF1 model. a b-1 is about 1/3 longer than an sr-71 and with substantially more bulk plus variable sweep wings. a b-2 is shorter lengthwise but has a very long wingspan and requires careful construction not to look toylike.
- im guessing that the b-1 is not that popular and that given the issues with making a large scale model, this would not be at the top of the list for any manufacturer.
- that said, oddballs like the dornier do-x and the xian h-6k have been made in 1/72 metal, so never say never.
- b-2 might be more popular, but i think the best outcome for collectors would be CW in the $250-$300 range or HM slightly less.

to put things in perspective, this is the "quality" level you get for the "$160 + shipping from china" xian h-6k:

Picked up the Model Collect B-2 model and will be popping it together in the next few weeks. I will post a picture when it's together. It has a 28 1/2 inch wing span, 14.5 length, so it takes up a large amount of space. I wou8ld be happy of HM did tackle it, even in plastic. Same for the B-1. I suspect price and the amount of copies people would purchase is a factor for someone to mass produce a finished model. I absolutely would purchase at least 1 of each and a few of the B-2's myself.

I knew the pricing was low, but too be honest the pricing has gotten out of hand a little bit on HM, I would rather Air Force One or JC Wings do it, I can live with an issue here and there, if overall it looks nice and has some heft in Diecast and no major errors. If think they can do it, but if its $200.00 they wont sell in qty, if they can keep it under $135.00, I think both the B1B and the B2 would sell , I know I would get one of each.

It seemed a rough and long fight to even get them in 1:200. Getting them in 1:72 seems a pipe dream. As long as we are dreaming, add in a B-52 also and get the trifecta.

But if they built it, I'd buy one of each for sure since I flew all three.

While we're at it I'll take two variants of B-58's and at least one B-29
