Default Cwhm cf-105 avro arrow #25204

Just a heads-up re CWHM CF-105 Avro Arrow RL-204 that only "10" pieces, of 1000 produced, remain available exclusively at the CWHM Gift Shop (phone 905-679-4183 ext 232). Cost is CAD $199.99 + $10 shipping (large/heavy 1/72 scale diecast model). RL-204 is the third offering from CWHM of the Canadian Heritage Series Avro Arrow with earlier releases RL-203 and RL-201 HTF (sold out years ago) and highly valued. So best to give yourself an "Arrow" Christmas gift and order one now before RL-204 is sold out. Cheers and Happy Holidays!

I have tried to collect at least one of every aircraft type out there in my collection. I think you absolutely need this one for any such collection. Hope to get another down the road. Right now on eBay, there are a couple of these starting at around $ 350, so some speculators already. If you don't have it, get it now.

Are you saying the "204" is USD $350 on eBay? Btw, nice display!

Going to answer my own question here... To my surprise, on eBay, I found two CWHM Avro Arrow RL-204's. One for CAD $515.87 + 23.21 shipping and the other CAD $483.62 + $19.63 shipping. So buying one or more of the "10 remaining" RL-204 Arrows direct from CWHM for CAD $199.99 + $10 shipping is a no-brainer (see CWHM Gift Shop phone number in initial post). GET ON IT BEFORE THEY'RE GONE!

That's just...its just...its so mean. But to be honest it did make me laugh.

You know what, a realistic diorama using both on that fateful final day would be even funnier.

Glad you saw the funny side of it It was probably too good for its time that it had to be scrapped or else parts fall into the hands of the commies.

The excavator is 1:50 scale, quiet impressive those models are, very detailed and very expensive, Machinery collecting would have to be at the high end of this hobby, they make a $180 Flanker sound cheap.

Oh yes, as much as us Canucks have a sensitive spot for our dearly departed Avro Arrow we still recognize and appreciate good humor. And I'm sure the commies (and Americans) found a way of infiltrating and acquiring some of the Arrow's leading edge technology - especially during the cold war, spy-vs-spy, era.

Think the 204 was released around this time last year...

The US did have a hand as well convincing Canada that they did not need the Arrow program and could help by giving them missile defense programs.
So yes, the US DID in fact have a hand in the determination to stop the program. But it ultimately still was Canada's decision. Sad to see, a world class program cut off due to politics. It could have cemented Canada's standing in the world stage of aviation, a very stupid short sighted mistake.
The US benefited greatly as Canada would go to them for future defense purchases. It's no secret that Skunkworks needed the titanium supply for the SR-71 program and this program certainly became competitive / a threat for speeding up the technologies that could defeat that program. It freed up resources for other American programs and many of the top minds in the Arrow program went on to work in the US aviation and even the Apollo space program.

Agreed, huge miss-step for Canadian government at the time and heartbreaking disappointment for Avro Canada...

Nah, just a snarky remark on my part referring to the song (and the car commercials): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1n9QTkrkP0
