Default Model of the year candidates as we near the halfway point?

Here's my list of candidates - though of course we have not seen many or most of these yet:

1/72
- Hobbymaster A-26K. Sure, the paint wont be perfect, but .. A-26K!
- Corgi "Little Miss Mischief" B-17. I'll throw it out there that old mould or not, this may be a great model.
- Century Wings "10th Anniversary" JR or Black Aces. If yours doesn't have QA problems, still a wonderful model and probably the best tomcats ever released in 1/72.
- Air Commander Showtime. The bookie's favorite
- Air Commander Silver Kings. Just as good.

also in the running: several soviet types not yet released. "let's see!"

1/48
Nothing particularly outstanding comes to mind. Several decent but not earth shattering HM P-51s and Fw-190s. A few same old same old spits. And I can't give a nomination to an Me109 with that down main gear. Maybe aoshima will churn something out before xmas (though their zeros are from 2015 and we've seen no stirrings since)? Or HM will do some wonderful PTO P-51Ds based on the altaya Pacific mustangs decals? please?

Regarding 1/48, we might get to see a HM Zero in this scale this year, altho it might come out early next year.

I haven't got it yet, but the new Corgi RNZAF Wellington "Y for Yorker" looks pretty awesome. RAF and Commonwealth birds didn't normally have nose art so "Soda Siphon" is a rarity.

And yeah.. Little Miss Mischief is a must for me, especially as I have another little Miss Mischief at home (age 2).

Funny how one reminds me of the other.

now that you've spilled that particular beanset (i had heard it was coming in rumors before..) any knowledge of which it will be?

plazajapan online still has the first aoshima zero at a pretty tasty price. probably will not be much more and perhaps less than any HM zero would cost. if you dont have one, that might be worth looking into.

- Air Commander Showtime
- SU-35 HM. Hoping they´ll get "902" colors right. But I believe William is well aware of how important model can correct SU-35 be for HM.

The top three in my book to this point. we will have to wait to see if Corgi gets the colors right.

Corgi "Little Miss Mischief" B-17. We will have to wait to see if Corgi gets the colors right.
Century Wings "10th Anniversary" JR or Black Aces. Yes, the best of the F-14's.
Air Commander Showtime. Detailing makes this on the most likely the best of the best.

Here are mine:

1) Air Commander Showtime - just got it yesterday and it is truly superb! Precise stencilling and finish brings this model to another level.
2) Air Commander Silver Kings - also a superb model
3) Century Wings - 10th Anniversary - Jolly Rogers
