A B17G with no chin turret?

Ah, found this, which suggests the chin and ball turret were removed prior to this representation. Also details the development of the painting.

Nice article & painting but i would have preferred that they have kept the chin turret in place, it looks better that way as seen in the picture...

Well well, I did not think such a B17G existed. The research by those involved and in particular the artist has to be highly commended, resulting in a very interesting and knowledgeable piece of art. Full marks....
