My modest modification of a Tigermeet Gripen

We have to admit, the Tigermeet Gripen looks cooler and more intimidating when it flips up its canards.



The current 1/72 prebuilt Tigermeet Gripen available on the market, however, has its canards fixed (only 2011 version has tiger eyes painted on canards). In addition, its canopy cannot open and there is no pilot. Both limitations greatly reduce the playing value of this unique model, which came with a Tigermeet badge and a signed photo.

Then I was brave enough to do some modification. I first tried to make the canards to pivot, and I did it. So I got a vivid Gripen Tigermeet livery.



I further took off the canopy. How? I inserted a hobby knife beneath the canopy from the back and pried. It just came off and nothing is damaged. What I needed was a pilot. I tried to put a Dragon Wings F-16 one into it only to find the leg room was small. I may have to cut him off the knees to fit in. Of course I won't do that. I have ordered 20 generic 1/72 pilots and they are on the way.
