Default 1:100 Scale Collection

I was collecting 1:100 Scale models some 10 years ago before moving into the 72 scale scene. The models were mainly made by Italeri and Franklin Mint.

The cabinet housing the 100th scale models was original made to display Coca-cola cans and bottles. Collecting 100th scale models is good when you live in small space and is ideal for people in Hong Kong and Japanese cities.

Unlike the 72 scale, there are more exotic models to collect like:

Alpha Jet "Patrouille de France"
Alpha Jet Belgian Air Force
MBB 339A "Frecce Tricolor"
Super Mystery B2
Mirage IIIE
MIG-17 Vietnamese AF
MIG-17 PLAAF
Super Etendard
F-21 Lion (US Navy VF-43 "Top Gun Aggressor")

I like that exotic cat, maybe a lynx on the right upper side of the photo.

Thanks for the Aero Passion tip, Blues Boy.

I try not to duplicate what I have got on the 100 scale for two reasons - space and money.

The Rafale looks tempting but a thread awhile back questioned the finishing of Dassault product.

You got a sharp eye Grecog70. Of the three cat like animal, one is a lynx. Next to it is a red panda and then an Indian civet cat.

Speaking of civet cat, there is one that climbs over my 6ft brick wall with fruits it had gotten and go to one and only one particular spot in the garden to eat. Faeces and all, always on the same spot. Drives me crazy during the fruiting season.

Do you get coffee beans from the civet cat?

There are some great models in there, some I wish would be done in 72!

I have a VPAF Fresco in 48, but wish someone would release a good version in 72 diecast. I for one would buy up every VPAF release, plus others, and I cannot imagine I am the only collector who would be keen!

The closest is the trio offered by Terebo: J5, J6 and J7.

Yeah, I have considered the J-5 and J-6 for a Code 3 to VPAF from PLAAF - that would give me Fresco, Farmer and Fishbed in 72 (with 4x Fishbeds, including 2x camo, between HM and Corgi); however, I can't take that project on till I have finished detting up my hobby room, so for now it will have to wait.

My preference would be for a manu to actually release some of those fantastic VPAF camos though

with regard to the civet cat, you may be interested in planting coffeea in the future. i'm sure monsieur tker would be more than happy to sift through all that shít

Something off topic.

Kopi Luwak, it is quite tasty. I bought a kg each of luwak and civet cat coffee when I was in Hanoi. What is the difference? Luwak is supposed to be coffee from the dropping of wild civet cats. That means you go round the jungle looking for poo. While civet cat coffee are poo from locked up civet cats who are fed continuously with coffee beans.

off topic too: how would you know which were from wild civet cats and locked up civet cats? do they taste different? free range eggs and farm eggs have a deeper orangey coloured yolk, firmer texture and more tasteful (not really sure how to describe). how do you differentiate between luwak and civet cat coffee? just curious...

Sure, though I do wonder about the economics of saving $20 AUD, but paying to ship all that metal and glass to Timbuktu??

Also, is the Malian postal service up to not breaking the glass too?

Nice hoarding of a bunch of cats that are actually birds. I make no sense...yeah I know.

Say you could use some of that rigid led light strips I mentioned in another post .... For the back 40 of each shelf

On the other hand you won't have to dust those planes if you can't see them

I now see the method to your madness

Nice collection TC....but I'm with Tker .... Let see the rest someday.

Btw you know my pathetic story of only one set of shelves to rotate my collections. Sometimes if my wife is feeling generous...she will let me use a second set of shelves we have.

well, you know how i'm not very good with lighting

tbh, i don't even know half of what's in there now. sacrilegious, i know... but i've been minded to sell that collection to make way for the 72s/48s

i dunno... m night shyamalan never ever tells the full story until the very end. so just stay tune and fit the pieces of the puzzle bit by bit. i'm sure the entire collection will somehow come together someday. won't have to wait that long, i'm sure. i doubt i'm even close to one thousand models, let alone two!

you jest. i've seen your bunny collection. it's on multiple shelves (no, no... not that bunny collection. the other one)

Using a crash cart I'm reviving this thread to say that....online....I came across the 1:100 Hachette Air Fighters Collection series at this link. They are suppose to be diecast..... medium weight? (not solid)

A second link......

????????????? | ??????????????????E???? (It's ok to click on the question marks string)

A third link (video) explaining them.....it is in English but the fellow doesn't start talking until a few minutes in.

You may find some on eBay, or else where, if you don't know the language, use an online translator/converter

I don't have any myself currently...
