These were snapped this morning, the only recycling you'll see is with HM and their dud Eagles and now Flankers

that's not recycling, that's providing employment to the small folks, namely smurfs.

This just in (the legit way ) HA5604 MIG-25PDS Foxbat, Blue 59, 146th GvIAP, 8th USSR Air Defence Army, Vasilkov AB, 1985

Great model, first I've received from Bangladesh and the quality has not suffered, at least so far

2 possible models of the year ?

I took this picture of a MiG-29 last April at the AF Museum in Ohio. Is that the same shield?

It looks like a Guards shield to me, but I am not sure if each unit has its own individual design - I’m sure someone here knows though?

Guards Aviation Regiments are considered elite units, usually because they distinguished themselves during WWII: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guards_unit

yeah, nicely done random off the production line foxbat this. proof that hm can come out with some pretty decent, if not excellent models.

No probs guys, always happy to share what arrives.

Yep as Tker pointed out, they are both Guards emblems, probably one of the nicest markings you can get on a Soviet aircraft.

Yeah this model is pretty good, that and the Su-35 from Syria, been awhile since HM produced such quality.

Attachment 302748
if you're going to go to RIAT, i suggest buying the things from the guys there personally. Unlike other units which just sell stuff there for beer money, the guys there significantly supplement their income with the trip. The UkrAF and even the display teams are at risk of losing pilots and ground crew due to low salaries, and this helps.

[Mumbles something about my personal interaction with the team this year including the replacement flanker pilot who is coming this year, but I can't post it in a public forum.]

If you're not going, then, by all means, get the patch!

Falcon Models FA728003 F11F-1 Tiger, VF-33 "Astronauts", USS Intrepid, 1959

Glad to of gotten this before FA went bust but boy is the quality average on these Tigers, probably a sign of their last days.

Thanks mate, it’s taken alot of time to get to this point, 10-15 yrs in fact.

The digital Ukr Flanker by JCW is decent but I still think the colours are alittle off. It will probably be my only JCW Flanker now that HM are doing Flankers. I’m still keen to see what Fulcrums JCW do, if they release anymore. Again would prefer HM or maybe even Calibre to do them.

Yeah the only reason I bought it over a Hobbymaster one was the scheme. I'm not sold on their Fulcrums, might just build one of those myself as none of their schemes really appeal to me. I'll probably pick up one of the Hobbymaster F-14s due for release soon next.

Yeah none of their Fulcrums have appealed to most collectors. Plus I’m hoping if HM do one, the landing gears will be one piece and not 10

HM F-14 is not perfect but it offers value for $, I have 1, the first Jolly Rogers release but I would like a standard Sundowners release at some point.

A few new arrivals, decided to hunt down some missing aircraft in my collection plus a cheap Fishbed to add to the the VNAF theme.

Corgi AA32312 English Electric Lightning F Mk 6, No 74 Sqn, RAF Tengah, Singapore

Awesome model, so glad I finally got one

Corgi AA32713 Hunter F Mk 6, No 74 Sqn, RAF Horsham St Faith, England

Another nice model from Corgi, only down side is that it’s tail heavy.

Corgi AA36601 P-38 Lightning, “Marge” Maj Richard Bong, New Guinea, 1942

Great model, Corgi’s first P-38 and probably the best. Not sure about the stand though, even for Corgi, it’s not the best angle for display.

Corgi PR99404 MiG-21PF, VNAF, Red 4326, Nguyen Van Coc, Vietnam, 1968

Probably didn’t need another Fishbed but the price was too good to turn down. Plus in some ways, this 11 year old model is much nicer then HM’s PFM’s

The Corgi P-38 is a little dandy, and I really like both Marge and California Cutie. However, Maguire’s bird is typically the HTF. I’ve never displayed mine without the stand. Hah, didn’t even know about the tail issue.

It really is a nice model from Corgi, I held out for awhile before finding one at a reasonable price. Almost went for a Witty P-38 but didn’t want fixed gears down.

Oh the tail issue is just with the Hunter, it’s full zinc and they even give a little clear plastic stand for the tail to sit on. I think the entire tail section of Corgi’s P-38 is plastic.

IMO, it’s really a better model than the 1/48 offerings from FM or AF1. The model is a great example of what’s possible in 1/72. It’s also a poster child for Corgi’s ability to do nice multi-engine models, while many of their singles are lacking in important regards.

I would like to collect more 1/48 models but I don’t have enough space for them, basically would need a 6th cabinet to display all the models I would have liked to get. That said, HM’s 109’s have been disappointing so it’s been easy to put that theme on hold. Same with the rather boring birdcage Corsairs, similar Juggs and copy paste Hurricanes

Terebo PLAAF, J-7E Fishcan, Red 81047

Typical average Chinese market quality, although not worse then what I was expecting actually, lacks some details that would make it stand out more eg detailed probe. The Chinese don’t add many markings on their aircraft so that part is consistent at least

Got this to satisfy my need for an early Fishbed type plus the double delta wing is cool.

Interesting packing, it comes in a book shaped box, loosely translated it sez classic Chinese fighters and 65 years of Chinese AirForce. I’m guessing this is to simulate the communist red handbook.

Gappy? This? No. Yes. Probably. And have you seen the very brand new SU-25 from the side? From top? From below?

Careful, that’s another forum that displays their models that way

Actually TC this one is already on the shelf.

The canopy is indeed gappy AF but as you point out, more well established brands selling to international customers still have their own problems.

This was $75 shipped, compared to $145 shipped for a HM Su-25, I think we can cut good ol Terribo () some slack. If they were to add a detailed probe and fix the gaps, expect to pay upwards of $120 and would you do that for such a small model of a pretty average performing aircraft? No I didn’t think so

Plus 3 feet rule

Actually TC this one is already on the shelf.

The canopy is indeed gappy AF but as you point out, more well established brands selling to international customers still have their own problems.

This was $75 shipped, compared to $145 shipped for a HM Su-25, I think we can cut good ol Terribo () some slack. If they were to add a detailed probe and fix the gaps, expect to pay upwards of $120 and would you do that for such a small model of a pretty average performing aircraft? No I didn’t think so

Plus 3 feet rule

hmm... so you're not willing to pay for more details and gap fixes from terebo? a premium terebo perhaps?

Lol “premium” only a muppet would come up with that idea.

It’s like hello Mr Manu Sir, can you please charge me double or triple the price to finish off your “collectible” model
