So many great collections

Lots of really interesting discussion, loads of great pictures, new members all the time..

Objectively I don't see how anyone can say DAC used to be better, say a year ago.

We still get all the news, but so much besides too

yeah... it strikes me as kinda strange that only now the gaincorps are coming to the fore. mebbe coz they went under. but i would certainly have gotten more of them when they were more easily available. i did catch quite a few witty flankers before they bacame rare... but am wondering why didn't i pay more attention to the gaincorps. you'd have to pay a pretty penny for them these days...

That's pretty much it, gaincorp, Witty even Falcon Models have all become rare only because they went under, before that, so much on eBay it was hard not to come across a Witty model of every type.

well, witty had a lousy marketing outfit (did they even have one?). nobody really knew what was coming out when. guess they only had themselves to blame. ok ok... perhaps someone snitched on them. but even so, you could hardly get any news of witty releases...

Oops, I mean RN not RAN Though they look almost the same it's hard to figure out which is what between the 3-4 nearly identical schemes they did.

Love that IAF F-15. I now only collect UK, US, Germany and Russia/Ukraine/Soviet when it comes to post-WWII birds, but if I could afford both the space and money for my collection to have a wider scope, that Eagle would be one of the first on my wishlist.

The IDF Eagle is defo worth getting, without a doubt HM's best Eagle. It's my only IDF model and HM Eagle in my collection, since getting it I've been able to say no to all the others, including to nice JASDF and grey IDF Eagles. So far everything USAF has been an insta-pass because of the issues with colour.

I suggest getting any of the camo Strikemaster if you can and aren't limited by theme, it's a really nice little model.

To be honest, I wanted the Kiwi Strikemaster before going to Singapore but couldn't find it so once I got back from my trip, I found a dealer that had both the RSAF Strikemaster and Viper on sale

Thanks. It's interesting to see how others display their models, it can give other collectors ideas or maybe see a model they might not have bought look really good and change their mind and not miss out.

Yeah the USN stuff is one of my fav themes, I still have room for a few more once I move the RAAF to another cab.

Thanks mate. Yeah I really like that Fishbed, it's probably the most accurate camo patten to be released.

Thanks mate, these were just reposts from other threads. I try to take as many pics as possible because I feel that's what makes a forum interesting and it's a very visual hobby.

Yeah seems to be a big issue with all the manus these days but it seems like HM are stepping abit backwards themselves.

well hm's mould almost always come with separate nose cone assembly so yeah, they probably have to pay more attention to how it's fitted. but i'm sure this is an essential release for any raaf collection

Thanks. Yeah I'd love to add more of those, it's hard finding a decent manu that does them or at all. I was tempted getting the next Corgi Nightfigher but after seeing your kit build, I canned it.

sure looks like they're all ready for some parade. at least armour isn't something that will lighten my wallet. that said, they sure do look impressive all lined up the way you've displayed them.

Latest arrivals, cheap Easy Model gap fillers till a better manu makes them. The P-40 is actually quiet nice (not sure about its accuracy) but the P-51 is pretty average (cockpit glass area is pretty average and gears doors are up while gears are down ) , would defo replace if HM do 1/72 P-51's at some stage.

I don't think they will, they already made 1/48 P-51's but there the only manu I'd buy a P-51 from, I wouldn't even get an ex witty P-51 if JCW ever did it.

I would be happy if they were to do so, and would definitely buy the schemes I like from them; however, I must say I am pretty happy with my latest Pooch 'Stang - 18th FBG F-51D from Korea.

Ay over $100 AUD it wasn't cheap though! I would pick up the No 77 Sqn Korean War scheme you have the EM version of, but that's probably about it at that price TBH

Oh yeah forgot about the Pooch, though there's more chance of getting a RAAF Canberra from them

Is that a Korean War scheme ? I was under the impression is was from Japan 1945-7 ? I guess it would've worn the same scheme.
