I'm sure the drawing will be released quite soon but after looking at pics on the internet, it doesn't look likely a warthog mouth is part of the livery.

Found decals from Authentic Decals. Looks like it has a Petie 2nd type logo behind the cockpit, under the antenna, left side and no teeth.

Personally, I hope they make it without the teeth.

The KC tail codes are worn by the AFRC's 442d TFW, who wear no nose markings.

They do actually, they have the "angry" Hog mouth on the nose.

Would you happen to know if it's definitely a 2014 livery? I did come across some pics but they were dated much earlier.

Not all the time:

When did they start applying the angry hog markings? That photo I linked was from 2012, while the squadron's website current pictures have the nose, I'm not sure they did in '14.

None of the images in Osprey's "A-10 Units of Operation Enduring Freedom" published in '13 show the nose markings, while that nose (or very similar) is also seen on other squadron's aircraft too, eg 47th TFS 'BD'.

Edit: can confirm the 442d weren't wearing any nose art at Hawgsmoke '14 (biannual A-10 community competition exercise): https://arnoldtenpas.com/2014/07/21/hawgsmoke-2014/

So, finally after getting to my PC instead of mobile I can confirm that Richard's wild guess is wrong and in '14 at Bagram there was still no nose art worn by 303d FS/442d TFW Warthogs (whatever a picture from might '16 show ).

The unit's own article about its departure from Bagram at the deployment's conclusion, including 11 very clear, high-quality pictures may be read here.

I'm not sure why this rash of guessing is happening, but in this case it unfortunately seems to most likely be a trolling attempt (given other comments in other threads...); not super useful for those of us actually interested in the model and not scoring points in some opaque manner. If it was a genuine mistake I apologise, but finding the image took such a cursory search that my cynicism may, perhaps, be excused.

The image with the nose markings is watermarked 2016, whereas the reference sources I consulted - back issues of Combat Aircraft magazine from '14 and the Osprey book A-10 Thunderbolt II Units of Enduring Freedom were all from the time or before; rather than risk leading anyone astray, I found the unit's own news page so we can all read it straight from the horses mouth.

Remember guys, google is your friend

I only replied to this message Tker. Stating they do not wear nose markings. But they do.

You could have said " who didn't wear nose markings at the time" and I could have said "they do wear them nowadays", but hey.

I just don't understand why you have to be this vitriolic in all your comments. Oh well.

The statement was obviously about the model so pretending you didn't understand the context is disingenuous at best, especially as your English is really not too bad.

All you did was attempt to cause confusion about the model, a pretty rotten trick.

"Nose art or not, that's one damn ugly plane. "

The sleeker the aircraft the sexier it is.

But I guarantee, from the A-10 pilots view point, as well as those receiving Close Air support, that is one beautiful aircraft.

Yes I think the Warthog is very popular among diecast collectors. It really does have a mean look to it. Most of the HM A-10 releases seem to sell out quite fast. Quite unique in a way as the plane was only ever operated by one nation. This is usually a reason cited for not doing a particular aircraft type in diecast.

Actually if you go back and check, HM have gradually added more and more stencils, original hogs were bare AF but now there they have quiet abit and are rather toasty

That goes for most HM models actually, some ppl on here sook about adding more and more stencils to ridiculous standards like the JASDF spooks but HM have already been adding yet I don't think anyone's ever commented on this, instead just sook for more that the model just looks stupid, a 1 mm stencil on a model would in reality scale up to like 1 foot letters on the real thing, hardly accurate for "no stops"

OK, maybe I was wrong about your English comprehension. That baseless accusation is a complete non-sequitur, where did you pull it from?

Or, to put it simply enough for you to follow: how does taking my issue with your lame efforts to confuse people as to what the model will look like relate in any way to Trump?

I am, in case you hadn't noticed the big Royal Australian Air Force flag next to my comments, not even American... Or is that just the worst insult you know?

If you're interested I can teach you a bunch more that are much, much worse?

boy, you haven't been paying attention in maths class. 1mm stencil on a model would in reality scale up to 72mm... approx. 3". hardly anywhere near being 1' eh? [ducks for cover]

I'm glad they ditched the cluster bombs for the last C release and went with JDAMs like their first C release but 22 releases later and still they're using the fictitious rocket pod. It's no deal breaker to me but the pod is so hard to find in 1/72 scale that I had to scratch build my own for one of my Hogs. I don't really feel like making more.

Here's what HM's pod looks like

Here's the real thing

I don't have a side by side real life comparison of the one HM used the and the Lau-131/Lau-68 since there's none in real life but here is the one I made. Excuse the quality but you get the jist. It's way oversized.

Yes, the duplicate posting is petty and disappointing.

It clearly ignores the "rules" the user in question was so shrilly bleating about when the "ugly Lynx" Voodoo dual post farrago was going on (driven by him and z****coon) and as had to be established after his own spambot double-posting efforts in the past, but I guess he's (allegedly) just earning his free models and can't be blamed for pursuing his own financial interests.

Implicitly claiming the Mule's art is "unofficial" is quite funny though.

What does he think they did, just make it up? Got a toddler to scrawl the picture on a napkin (like an RCAF "special scheme", "special" being the operative word), lol?

This A-10 has a nice 'clean' look to it, i like it but the one with the 'shark mouth', the HA1322 is mighty fine looking too... now i have to make up my mind as to which one to get, ha ha...

Nice job with the rocket pod!

If you want to see some really great pics of the A-10 with the Hog-teeth go to www.sharpshooter-maj.com. Click on Base Visit# 4, Return to Alex- Hawgsmoke 2004. This site has not been updated since 2011 but there is a wealth of pictures from base visits to Tiger Meets. Go thru the whole site and you will be pleased by the quality of photos and the many types of planes shown that aren't around anymore. One section called Cornets, Crested Caps and Salty Bees has great pics of USAF Fighter Deployments to Europe since 1970. Enjoy!
