Yes, the Spooks can be an endless but hopefully joyous slide and HM is quite aware of our weakness for them.
Happy to say I slid into a few good ones that are now thankfully paying dividends...

I'm sure it will be the slide of all slides... HM must be nearing it's 100th individual Spook release by now. And I have no doubt there ARE collectors out there who have each and every one of them - those collectors are on the King Kong Slide...

yeah, they usually do, don't they? i haven't capitalised on the appreciation thus far so if at all they're just paper gains at the moment, but yeah, the satisfaction of looking at them is immense...

Very nice selection

The silver Voodoo and camo Sabre are some of if not the best schemes currently for those moulds.

And the camo Tiger II, now that I would buy to pair up with the Sabre.

Very nice display and great choices... How does the silver paint on 1060 compare with 1011 and silver Voodoo?

To be honest I prefer the silver paint on 1011 & the silver Voodoo than the 1060.

Reason I ask is because I'm trying to get HM (William) to produce a silver Sabre. The silver finish on 1011 is actually a polished/chrome-like procedure that HM can't outsource anymore. If the silver "paint" on 1060 (I don't have 1060) looks OK I thought perhaps a silver Sabre could be done using this same paint - believe the HM USAF Sabres are painted with this silver (I have two USAF Sabres still in boxes - should take a look). William mentioned a special silver paint (looks more shiny) that might suffice for such a Sabre project. Just now looking at my 3709 Voodoo and see it's definitely two shades of silver and NOT a shiny/polished surface like 1011 Starfighter. I'm pretty sure, if you look closely, 1060 is painted in the same lighter silver as the 3709 Voodoo and USAF Sabres. The silver still looks awesome but the polished/chrome-like application, as seen on 1011, is "Super-Special-Awesome", and sadly we might not ever see that process used again...

Here are a few online library shots of HM-HA4307 (I have this one), USAF F-86F Sabre #52-4513, pilot/ace James Jabara, Korean War. You can clearly see the silver paint application quality - believed to be the same silver paint used on 1060 Starfighter and 3709 Voodoo. Of course the silver paint looks even better courtesy of photos by Mr. SuperKungFu, presented in his 08-09-2014 DAC Forum review of this historic USAF Sabre...

The only silver Sabre I have is from Corgi. Its silver color looks ok to me. I have just taken a close look between the HA1060 and this one and their silver color look almost identical.

Also the Sabre is not my favorite plane so I will probably pass it if HM decides to make one.
But if they make the CF100 below I would be all over it

Agreed, a CF-100 "Canuck" would make a great addition to anyone's Canadian Collection... I checked some online color charts for bare metal and silver paint on CF-100 and F-86 Sabre but since I just woke up it was too much of a strain on my brain...

Believe there were only 692 CF-100 'Clunks' built by Avro Canada and the RCAF and Belgium Air force used them for NORAD commitment. In addition, however, 'Canucks' were flown by other air forces including Royal Saudi, Royal Thai, Republic of Korea, Republic of China, and Guatemala. A CF-100 project would require new tooling by HM, but I bet a 1000 piece release would sell out quickly with us 'Canuck' hungry Canadian Collectors. Have presented the project to CWHM last year so there still might be hope from that angle as well... A few of my favorite RCAF Squadrons that used the CF-100 are 409 Nighthawks, 416 Sqn, and 455 Sqn

Interesting stand - is the neck made of metal? Trying hard to see inside the 204 canopy (in background) and can't confirm the "new flight crew" (pilot and GIB) as being in their seats yet. How do you expect to get takeoff clearance without a flight crew...??? And, to make things even worse, your new "Chipmunk" is air-born without a pilot - what's up with that???

Perhaps an apology is required here... On closer examination the "Chipmunk" has, what appears to be, a pilot helmet resting on the back seat. At first I thought it might be just the flight helmet, or perhaps a soccer ball, but if it is indeed a pilot figure it appears he/she might be asleep. Of course this is not the kind of behavour expected of a pilot trainee. Your CF-104D is also in flight configuration without a pilot or GIB - are you flying this aircraft as a "drone"?

Yes indeed, you are correct :-) There are two figures in the Chipmunk. You are also right about there not being any figures inside RL-204...... yet. I'm not sure if this is "done" but I've been toying with painting up those figures to match the flight suits I saw people wearing in, "The Arrow". Might be risky though as it is a tight fit to begin with. Finally, I accidentally packed away the 104D 's box with the figures still inside :-(

I'll get this all sorted out very soon lol :-)

@ Spooky, The stand is all plastic. Very much like the HA and other CWHM stands I've experienced to date.

I believe the "neck" piece of the Arrow stand is metal, but could be wrong, and you might want to double-check the Chipmunk stand...
You are correct, with all parts of HM stands usually being plastic, but I'm not so sure about CWHM stands...

I'm afraid I've packed away my Arrow Stand. I set RL-204 in landing gear down position. As well, the company CWHM worked with on the Chipmunk is Aviation 72. I don't believe AV72 had anything to do with the Arrow so it is probable that there are differences between the Chipmunck's stand and the Arrow's stand.

The RCAF trainers look very cool displayed together.

Hi Spooky,

Many thanks :-)

The all yellow trainers really do display well together. The rigging in the Tiger Moth really stands out for me. Unusual given the rest of the planes. I'm loving the trainer theme :-)

Cnq123, I couldn't resist the little cwhm trainers. Unlike you, however, I've yet to take the, "camo sabre" plunge. Just waiting for my monthly collecting budget to recharge.

As well, I just realized I may have contributed to the misappropriation of your thread. My newness to the Forum led me to think of this thread as a general, all purpose, posting ground for RCAF group shots. My apologies. Notwithstanding, I've relly enjoyed seeing so many updates over the past couple of weeks.

Pretty sure cnq123 initiated this thread, showing his own models, with the thought in mind that other members would share their "Group shots: Canadian Collection" with this forum. Excellent idea to have a specific thread where we can show and discuss our Canadian Military Aircraft Collections. Well done...

Brent... Very cool Avatar! Is it a UFO, the earth, or an unusual cloud formation - or all three??

Or perhaps Trump has pushed the button on Kim Jung-un... C'mon Brent, don't keep us in the dark, what is it...?

OK, here's a challenge for the "Group Shot: Canadian Collection" thread. Those interested will create a "Three Ship Formation" that must include three of your Canadian a/c as they would have been seen flying together at an air show or operational formation. No need to pick a winner - just thought it would be fun to see what members come up with. Must admit, Brent's three ship "trainers" shot sparked this idea. No need to be an expert photographer, just point and shoot and try having the photo look as real as possible - this is where "creativity" kicks in. Oh, and no photo-shop entries.
Cheers,

Good god people, getting overwhelmed here with "Three Ship Formation" pics - slow down...

If interested CWHM Avro Arrows 201 and 203 are currently listed on eBay by seller in NY einhander603. Asking US $449.99 (CAD $601.95) for 201 and US $199.99 (CAD $267.54) for 203. Note: 203 reports "nose gear cover" missing - so, if interested to purchase, best to check with CWHM for replacement piece first...
Cheers,

@ Spooky, sorry for the delay. I was away for part of the weekend. UF is correct, the avatar is a picture of a asteroid impacting on the top of the planet.

Oh, I'm liking this idea a great deal. I may not have enough planes to go beyond what I've already done but I look forward to seeing what people come up with.

Like in the North Pole as opposed to the top of my house???
Very cool photo and, of course, as your Avatar, looks awesome!

Figured you might be one of the first to recreate your "Three Ship Formation" with your trainers... As a reminder, the "formation" must contain three of your Canadian military a/c and, "somehow", appear that they are actually flying - no other aircraft, baby bottles, or dog food bowls are to be seen in photos...

You only need THREE a/c Brent - Love to see those trainers do a "flyby"...
