Yes Brent, it won't be long before you are promoted to Supreme Collector.

There are at least 4 in private hands already. John Travolta had one at one point.

Not surprised, "Mr Fever" apparently has quite a collection of a/c...

I'd like to publicly thank Spooky for being a terrific gentleman and helping out a total newbie (me) with the issue I had on the CF-105 RL-204 I had received. I am truly blown away at the generosity of spirit and helpfulness shown by him and all the other gents such as tomcatter who answered my cry for help/advice.

Please bear with me on upcoming myriad questions as I start to flesh out my warplane pipeline. The CF-105 will be the star of my collection for sure.

Sorry to pull away from the RL204 thread for a moment but does anyone have HM CF-18 "Nightmare 01" in their hanger?
If yes, what are your impressions and, if you can, please provide photos - must be sitting next to your 204 of course...

As skuffles go here, it was pretty little actually.

I'd like to apologize to everyone for my part in straying from this RL-204 thread yesterday.
My changing the topic was inappropriate but, in fairness, my comment was not a lie...
Cheers,

So, getting back on track, does everyone have their 204 displayed or are you keeping it safely in it's box? For those who can afford to purchase a second 204, it might be a good idea considering there are only 1000 pieces produced. As I expect you know 201 (3500 pieces) and 203 (3000 pieces) are extremely difficult to find and 204 could be the last Avro Arrow we will see from CWHM. I have no doubt 204 will gain in value once sold out but, more importantly, the quicker it sells out the better chance we have for CWHM to, hopefully, produce a CF-100 "Canuck"...

CWHM Arrows 201 and 203 are currently listed on eBay if interested. Seller is einhander603 in NY. Asking US $449.99 for 201 (9 watchers) and US $199.99 for 203. Note that 203 has "front gear door" missing and best to check with CWHM for replacement part before purchase. This 203 is well priced and calculates to CAD $267.54, while 201 calculates to CAD $601.95. You might need to take out a second mortgage on the house for this 201. I've attached seller's photos of 201 and 203...

Give CWHM a call tomorrow and ask if they retain "parts" for the Arrows. See if they have a "nose gear door" - believe it's the "in-flight" door. Better still, I will contact the seller and ask all the obvious questions - and give CWHM a call once I confirm the actual missing piece...

A great model to have as your star of your collection, but seeing as you are from Denmark you may also want to acquire a Hobby Master HA3852 F-16 and HA2107 F-100D both in Danish markings - just a thought

Indeed - I love the CF-105, absolutely one of the best looking warplanes ever made.

As to planes with Danish markings, nah, I am not planning to build up a Danish or any other nation's air force . I'm more interested in specific planes, interceptors in particular. Thanks for the suggestion though

Congrats on the 2nd Arrow. As for the Danish heritage, it is one way that I keep my lovely wife happy (and somewhat supportive) with my diecast collecting - she is a pure Viking so with having some Danish models lets me get away with more of my purchases

The CWHM Arrows came with two sets of "air brake doors" - one for up position and one for down. The one missing from "Brent's new 203" is a down position door. CWHM did keep "spares" at one time and I'm waiting for a call-back to see if these said doors are still available as replacement parts... CONGRATS BRENT!!!

Yep, I can't believe my luck Congrats also to Brent on acquiring the 203, I was on the fence about it, shipping from the States to Denmark is always an expensive option so I am glad another DACer (is that a term you guys use here?) got it

Now I'm crossing my fingers I can get the 202 and 203 here locally in Europe, without having to sell a kidney or two

Yes, Congrats again Uzair, and best of luck with your hunt for that 203.
Btw, not sure what you meant re "202" - CWHM did not produce that RL.
Cheers,

Cheers,
Whoops - so there's no RL-202 in diecast 1/72 form ever produced by CWHM/HM or anyone else? I'm sure I saw them in the topics here on DA.C. Which leads me to ask: is there a database of diecast aircraft, military ones in particular? I know about hobbydb.com, and it is a good resource for both car and aircraft diecast; a search for CF-105 yields the original RL-201 and 203 releases, but it is obviously not updated with the 204.

Hello Uzair,

Lemmings418 (here on DA.C) keeps a Canadian Diecast Database. I'm sure he can send you a copy if you give him a shout.

You are right about the Arrows. They've done 201, 203 and 204 so far. Many of us hope there will eventually be a 202, 205 and even 206. 206 being the only Arrow to have an Iroqois engine installed and therefore at least as symbollically important as some of the other Arrows produced by CWHM, IMHO.

Congratulations on you new 201 ! I'll be heading in that direction once I get my 203 all sorted.

RL206, being the "generation 2" Arrow, with Iroquois Engine, would require new tooling to produce as a 1/72 diecast. So, if CWHM was to ever produce a forth Arrow it would be 202 or 205, for which they can use the same mold as they did with 201, 203 and 204...

C'mon CWHM - since you already have the tooling go ahead and make both the 202 and 205. You know you want to

And if you ever produce the 206, that would be a perfect conclusion to your Arrow story

Thanks for the database tip Blues Boy, I will start using it from now on. Although I see even it is not fully updated, with the RL-204 not listed.

And a sad story it was...
Not encouraging for CWHM future releases of RL202 or RL205 when only 2/3rds of the 1000 piece RL204 have been sold so far...

HM Avro Arrow Parts Report: Just had a call from Tracey at CWHM Gift Shop... It seems the "extra parts" for the Arrow have gone missing... Tracey will take a look for them, specifically for Brent's needed RL203 "air brake doors" and possible "front gear door". If unable to locate the parts she will keep any damaged models in order to "cannibalize" parts for us. Will keep you posted...

Thank you for the update Spooky :-)

Worst case scenario is that I will need to pick up a second 204 myself.

You mean a second 204 just for parts???

Since there's 2 sets of air brake doors you could simply display 203 with doors in up position - or take an "up door" and fashion it to be a "down door"... Of course you'll know more once 203 arrives and you give it a thorough "pre-flight walk-around"...

Well, maybe. I would prefer to avoid doing that. However, I do have plans to eventually find a 201. Having lots of spare parts might be helpful

Brent, Tracy at CWHM Gift Shop (905-679-4183) has found your parts...!

She has "air brake doors" (down position) and "front gear door" (attached).

You can attend CWHM for pick-up or pay shipping and they're yours...

I'm thankful to be one of the few collectors that have all three Arrows...

They are a very worthwhile investment ! The photo looks great as well ! I just got off the phone with cwhm. I think I won't wait for 203 to arrive before picking my pieces up as she has them set aside for me.

CWHM ARROW PARTS: You can contact Tracey at CWHM Gift Shop if you are in need of Avro Arrow spare parts. These pieces are only white - there are no "day-glo" parts available. However, many of the spares will work for all three Arrows since they were all produced from the same mold. I don't have a list of what parts are available but expect they could include: main gear, front gear, gear doors (front and main), air brake doors, canopies, engine exhaust nozzles, seats, flight stands, flight stand insert covers and perhaps even vertical stabs, as I believe they are made of plastic as well...

I wonder if CWHM will ever commission this RCAF scheme:

Or this:

Given the amount of discussion surrounding Soviet spies on the Arrow project both are most likely closer to slightly alternate reality than fantasy schemes, and would be interesting additions to anyone interested in the Cold War

Great pics the BB - and such a classic RCAF premature ejection shot too!

Reminds me of the most recent Canadian Forces Bug with its multiple PE markings.
