The same would have been said with the CW Gulf of Idra VF-41's. They took a long while to sell.

Just about every modern Tomcat has combat history in OIF/OEF...

They're going to have to mold the original style gun vents if they want to get this release right.

can't decide if I should pre-order only one or two. Hopefully HM will release the 207 jet as well. One without the other is a waste of resource.

They haven't all bagged Lybian Migs though. It's not just the victory. The "incident" itself has a huge background. The Mig splashes were just the high vis aspect of it. Read about guys bending the jets on TARP's flights.

HM can't be bothered to use the correct gun vents for this release, I have doubts that they'll make the necessary changes for the VF-1 releases...

Does anyone see a problem with the canopy positioning (left and right) and the height of the ejection seats or is it just me?

Yep, not a chance I would say. What a bugger, I can't wait to see Calibre's pre-pros. Hopefully they will release them ASAP so I can decide which Wolfpack I want - at least we know Calibre will have the right gun vents, now we need to see what the finish is like.

the "02" on the vertical stabs is wrong... it should be higher up at the edge. the "vf32" on the ventral fin should be scaled down... way too huge.

You're comparing the model with a photo that predates the "shoot-down" by a couple of years.

Instead look at this photo taken a month after returning from the cruise in question.

I like this Tomcat but I would rather see HM release the low visibility F-14 Jolly Rogers... That is the only low visibility Tomcat I would love to see, just like the one Hasegawa 1:72 came out with...

Yes other squadrons such as SU killer Tophatter. Low & high vis Black aces would be nice.

Not sure what you meant by the left right positioning but i definitely see the ejection seat height issue. Reminds me of myself at 5 years of age driving my dad's car. It's a cute photo. And no i will not be sharing it here

Do you have any more details about that "kill" such as the date and the particular F-14 Tophatter livery at the time?

No problem, would be a bit surprised if it was done again as the CW version was dumped. On the upside I got a cheap model but not good for CW/retailer to see it in the bargain bin.

As Michael (SuperKungFu) posted on the HM Jolly Rogers thread - starting with this model the ribs on the main gear will no longer be present.

Just got one of these. I'm very impressed by HM's finish work, quality control, and the new packaging. The styrofoam-and-tissue combination prevented any marring of the finish, which is a huge step forward for HM. Pics next week...

Agreed. It also makes it far easier to remove the model than the old plastic packaging!

Hmmm...I was thinking of getting the Red Devils F-18...the photos didn't look too great on Hawkone's site. Got any close-ups JML54?

The HM F-18 Red Devils really looks nice, it really stands out from the rest, i have one too! I'm just waiting on the F-4 Phantom of the same squadron also...
